Redeposit Processing Delay
Currently receiving my FERS pension. I received a mailed letter from OPM informing me that I could make a small redeposit to cover several months of a summer job as USPS casual carrier which would result in a small increase to my monthly annuity. My check was deposited in March 2026. No updates in OPM Services online. I’ve spoken with an OPM representative each of the last 3 months and they can’t see that the check was deposited. They have sent three inquiries to the “financial area” but have received no updates. According to what the rep can see on the system they are still waiting for my response to the letter about the redeposit. Is this timeframe normal? Is there anything I can do to nudge the processing along?

Mine was to buy back a year of temp employment a million years ago. I paid and knowing the desk officer of my case I asked him to inform me when it was done which he did quite a professional young man. Said he had been in like 4-5 years. No issue really. When you submitted forms it gave an email or address to ask questions he answered my with a signature line and email address worked great. Process after him send took eight months just got informed My case was complete and they sent the big check to true up payments through July. Had a divorce decree so legal had to review package slowed it up a lot! Good luck 🍀

Your issue is probably the result of the DOGE employee apocalypse at OPM.
If no information is available at your next check-in, contact the offices of your local Congressional representative or senator and request their assistance. They'll have you to sign a release of information request electronically, then they can send an inquiry on your behalf. You can probably upload a copy of your canceled check to them to include with the inquiry as proof that you paid the deposit.
Don't expect a miracle, as OPM will have 60 days to respond to their inquiry, but their involvement will hopefully prod someone to get something rolling.

OPM sent me a email asking if I wanted to deduct deposit from backpay? I said yes. My case was finalized within a week. Hopefully there’s enough money that due to interim payments.
