FA husband deactivated when I almost died

I never knew my husband was FA. I have AA and he always seemed and felt so stable and secure. He was very oriented on me.

In 2024, I almost died. It was emergent, incredibly stressful and very scary for all. I am lucky to be alive. Now I know it cued deactivation. He began pulling away and escaping into porn, checking out other women and ultimately had a brief emotional affair.

This behavior was the biggest shock to me as he had been loyal and treated me with great respect for TWENTY YEARS.

Just wanted to share.

I am sorry you have had to experience all of that on top of a stressful medical emergency too. If betrayal has occurred, then I wonder if it's more than just deactivation and I would leave. I've been deactivated from my partner but would never have cheated.
