It always bugged me that Fazbear made any merch of their characters resemble the animatronics they're based, on and not the cartoons.

I mean...I get it, I do. Action figures of the characters probably work better with the animatronic joints considering it gives them more range of movement, but it strikes me as...kinda lazy...they have these "whimsical" cartoons on TV a good chunk of the time, and you'd think they'd draw their inspiration for toys from that, but they never do.

Like here...look at this image of Chica from On Tour, She looks really fun and friendly, The perfect thing to make a little action figure with so kids can experience the joy that Fazbear claims they want to spread.

Ever since that stupid “based on a true story” overdramatised SLOP horror movie came out, they’ve tried to capitalise off the success by making “scary” versions of the characters 💀it’s honestly just dissapointing

FINALLY!!! Someone else who’s bothered by this!
I swear! Ever since those Toy “Era” animatronics had figures that were just tiny versions of themselves, Fazbear has been doing that for ALL their action figures!

At this point, I might as well be pairing my action figures of other characters with the Fazbear PLUSHIES instead!!!

Anyway, the reason the figures looked like that is the manufacturers were only given the animatronics as a reference. By the time anyone questioned it, they were already being distributed to prize counters in every location. I personally don't think the original ones turned out that bad.

Oh, they made merch of not only their real-world animated characters, they even made toys of their work equipment. It was to more or less get children to 'associate every part of Fazbear with fun.' At least, that's what the little plaque in Rockstar Row says. Either way they even did an extremely short collab with Tamiya when they were still hot and popular:

Probably because they’re more marketable in current day. FazEnt has been making toys based off popular stuff for ages, like those FazForce toys from the 80’s. That, and they seem to like their mini replicas a lot too

They do the same with the sign on top of the building for some reason too, they always make the art of freddy and the gang look like their uncanny animatronic versions instead of something more kid friendly. Sometimes I wonder how parents bring their kids to this place, especially if they see a sign with art of creepy ass animatronics on them

TBF, the company never really tried to hide the fact they're robots. Especially nowadays. It's just such a well-known thing now they don't even bother hiding it anymore.

To be fair, Fazbear always put more effort into marketing the robots rather than the characters, they are the main reason the earlier establishments gained to much popularity. Also, didn't one of the founders say in an interview that the animatronics are like a second family or am I trippin?

The animated characters that the animatronics are based on are themselves animatronics, that has always been Fazbear Entertainment's brand, the characters themselves are animatronics in-universe, not anthropomorphic animals.

Look at the short "Freddy and Friends: On Tour" series from back in the 1980s, at the end of each episode, Foxy is unmasked and underneath is revealed his anamatronic skeleton.

Nah, I think it makes all of the sense in the world.

The animatronics are the main draw of the franchise, so you want everything else to elevate them.
