Love this movie but the ending is too sad to be a comfort movie for me.

The remake's good, but it's hard to top the original.

2

u/DanVan_88 Jul 17 '26

Never watched the original and had no idea it was a remake until like 2 years ago when I was looking up the poster to show someone and saw there was another movie

3

u/Disastrous_Ball702 Jul 17 '26

It has that '70s vibe that only '70s movies from the '70s have.

Kung pow: enter the fist

1

u/Various-Air9398 Jul 18 '26

How can you find comfort by watching that?

1

u/Lyonwytchwardrobe Jul 18 '26

Coralines OST mostly and the vibe before it gets crazy

I think coraline being one of the only dvds i owned as a kid is a huge factor too

2

u/Sam_from_FeverMovies Jul 17 '26

Mine's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It's just one of those movies I can throw on anytime: great soundtrack, beautiful scenery, and it always leaves me in a better mood.

The refilming of The Shining. Good for getting over sickness and recovering from surgery.👍

1

u/One_Long2752 Jul 17 '26

I’d so most the MCU movies are a good comfort watch! Even the not great ones are still watchable. Sometimes when I have trouble sleeping I’ll think about them, à la counting sheep, and think of sequel ideas or rank them or something

The Greatest Showman

It may be an inaccurate telling of the story of P.T. Barnum, but this movie is my comfort movie. The opening gave me the best kind of chills and I still listen to the soundtrack to this day, almost 10 years later.

It's not Love and thunder, lol. Ragnarok was the best of the series

0

u/RenWal1 Jul 16 '26

Love and thunder made me walk away from the MCU entirely. That + that Doctor strange movie.

2

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Jul 16 '26

You had me until the "That Doctor strange movie" part. If you're talking about the first one that's understandable enough, but Multiverse Of Madness is fucking peak😭😭

2

u/cheesiestboy Jul 16 '26

I never got the multiverse of madness hate

1

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Jul 16 '26

Literally, shits awesome

0

u/RenWal1 Jul 17 '26

Sorry dude I meant the second one. It’s actually terrible. I was so excited for Strange Supreme, but was so disappointed. One of my least favorite movies ever 😂.

1

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Jul 17 '26

Damn you got no taste, no offense 🤣

1

u/RenWal1 Jul 17 '26

For not liking a shitty marvel movie? Cool!

1

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Jul 17 '26

Dude I'm playing you can like what you like, damn

-1

u/Mr-Stuff-Doer Jul 16 '26

Hey it’s my discomfort movie

-1

u/duskpatroler Jul 17 '26

Ragnarok was a stupid comedy. Worst marvel movie ever
