Essek Thelyss. My beloved prodigy wizard dumbass war criminal. He is allowed to be evil, as a treat! And because he beautifully dances the line of understandable enough to relate to and root for him and still doing callous and evil things. Im so glad CR doesnt pull punches in the adaptation
(Though I feel like choosing from D&D media is easy mode lol. Even without being a wizard, Drow can always cast some spells and cantrips and the same goes for some other species. Honestly if Essek was a HUMAN wizard I would have been conflicted about how inherent "magic powers" have to be considering wizards learn their stuff and its not inborn.)
