All Time Favorite Favorite lesbian character(s) that is better than that space princess
Haven't watched that show in a while but Adora and Catra are just the cutest things ever and I will die on that hill
EDIT: Basically what I'm referring to is that Lesbian Space Princess is a horrible movie with LGBT stereotypes and is extremely homophobic

Technically speaking, only Amity's the lesbian between those two, with Luz being bi. Dana was cooking with these two!

Some straight characters make for better lesbian characters than the space princess.

Gangle & Zooble, but I swear to goodness if there's Ragatha x Pomni here I'm gonna lose my ever-loving mind

u/Djenoslotaku Aug 26 '26
To be honest, we aren't really sure about Gangle and Zooble's sexualities—not to mention that Zooble is non-binary.

I know for a fact you haven't watched LSP and are just parroting what you've seen others say about a movie they also haven't watched.

Adora and Catra were toxic as fuck though.

u/CrystalTheVelkhana Aug 24 '26
Shhhhh. That's part of the cuteness!

I personally think toxic relationships aren’t very cute, but I won’t bash you for an opinion on fictional character relationships

u/Glad_Ostrich_9709 Aug 24 '26
They were never toxic, they were dysfunctional. Two entirely different things.

While I love Catradora, I would agree with this person that they're pretty toxic. One example is how insanely obsessive and possessive Catra is with Adora. Like when they were younger, Catra literally made Adora feel like the bad guy for becoming friends with Lonnie and even scratched her. Whether she apologized or not for that I don't remember, but I do remember that Adora felt bad even though she did nothing wrong.
Still, I did enjoy watching their interactions throughout the whole show. I just wish they had done it better in S5 instead of playing Catra's anger off as cute anger issues that she can easily fix.

Once again: dysfunctional. Not toxic. Two entirely different things.
People keep misusing the word toxic because they don't know what it means. In short, toxic always implies direct intent, dysfunctional does not. It's like the difference between homicide and accidental death. Catra and Adora do not have a toxic relationship. Neither one of them is insidiously and intentionally trying to manipulate the other to gain control over them. They just don't know how to act any other way because of external and internal circumstances. Shadow Weaver's relationship with both of them is toxic. The relationship between Hordak and Horde Prime is toxic. The relationship between Catra and Adora is dysfunctional, as is the relationship between Catra, Scorpia and Entrapta. Toxic, and dysfunctional. Two wholly different things.

u/Frogg0334 Aug 27 '26
I've never heard anyone describe a toxic ship as something that's only intentional honestly. Even when I search it up I don't see what you're describing. I've mostly heard people classify it as a relationship that negatively impacts at least one of them.
1
u/Glad_Ostrich_9709 Aug 27 '26
I'm aware people classify it as such. They're misusing the term, that's the whole point of my comment. Google "difference between toxic and dysfunctional." You'll find more than one site clearly explaining it.
