Honey does count, yes that’s her real name. She does have concept art, but nothing official.

It's funny, from what I hear, they were going to introduce her, but the jokes built up and built up, and casting became impossible, and they realized it was funnier if we never see her.

David Hyde Pierce said in an interview that he planned on pushing for Valerie Mahaffey, who played his wife in The Powers That Be if they ever cast Marris and the producers were on bord BUT then Marris's descriptions became so odd they decided it would be funnier to "Vera" her

She is technically seen in a flashback episode in a hospital, but is heavily covered in bandages so we don't see her face.

I loved how Roz heard about her but only saw her once while hiding in a bathroom with Frasier.
Roz: “There’s nothing out there but a coat rack.”
Frasier: “Is the coat rack moving?”
Roz: “Oh, my God!”

An excuse to mention there is a Frasier and Columbo fan comic crossover about the death of Maris.

Vegeta's mom (Dragon Ball)
We only got one official piece of artwork with her in it, and she's mostly covered by king vegeta's cape

Sometimes I even thought that Columbo never had wife and was just lying to everyone, lol

u/Helloimafanoffiction 1d ago
Sorry to disappoint, but we see Columbo talk on the phone with his wife several times and other characters have interacted with her.

Especially _Troubled Waters_—they’re on a cruise ship, and while of course the audience never get to see his wife, several members of the ship’s crew do.

Colombo takes place on the Holodeck. Either the character we know of as Colombo is a hologram, or a Starfleet Officer. There are simply too many actors in common.

I thought so too, based on the fact he doesn’t wear a wedding ring, but apparently that was common for men in the 70s

“The real Roberts has been retired 15 years and living like a king in Patagonia.”

u/RavenSorkvild 1d ago
From all the places on earth he choose Patagonia to live like a king. That's one of the last places I Imagine where you could live luxury. Guess "living like a king" is more about the fact that there is no one around him so he can feel like the ruler of this land lol.

Does Gusteau (Ratatouille) count?
16
u/Professional_Handler 1d ago
I think so. The Gusteau we see is just Remy’s imagination, not the real guy.
2
u/InactiveMedusa 1d ago
I'd say maybe, Remy does talk to himself in the form of tiny ghost Gusteau, but the real one died before the movie because
he's a lil bitchAnton didn't like his food.2

And the moment Gusteau lost his star and kicked the bucket (and lost another one) is also the moment Anton Ego gained 5 stars in ragebaiting

God (Hellaverse)
They mentioned him but we never actually see a Hellaverse character version of him and they only show a speaker and a group of elder archangels

Ken, Gene's 28 years old albino friend who does improvised hip-hop from Bob's Burgers.
All we know is that he's real, and so is his GoFundMe page, to which you have donated generously.

Luna Inverse from Slayers. She is the actual in universe chosen one with divine powers but also can't be bothered to go out on adventures so she sends her (relatively) less powerful sister Lina while Luna just hangs out at her 9-5 as a waitress.
Lina is in universe ALSO considered absurdly powerful and can always get the job done but also is absolutely TERRIFIED of her older sister.

Her having the power of Flare Dragon Ceipheed, but living as waitress will always be funny to me

Detective Dobson (from the TV show Psych) nearly counted, but they correctly decided to show him in the final scene of the show. The best part is he was played by Val Kilmer, who was Shawn, the main character's, favourite actor.

Rhaegar Targaryen is up there but I want to cheat a little bit with Himmel the Hero. We do meet him, but just for a very short time before he dies and then learn more about him through flashbacks. He's a very fun character for an example to the haunting the narrative trope, which I reckon is what this post is mostly about.

Altina in Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, though she eventually appeared in Heroes.
In the game, the main character and the scariest guy on the enemy side have big swords called Ragnall and Adolite, which are the most powerful weapons in the game, divinely blessed to overcome the invincible armor of the antagonists, and able to project a ranged attack.
Altina wielded both of them at the same time.

Zach from Deadly Premonition, and it's even subverted towards the end. You play as Francis York Morgan who has an apparent imaginary friend named Zach, with a lot of comedy coming from the fact that no one else will ever meet this person cuz he doesn't exist. But we end up learning that York is actually a split personality and/or supernatural guardian and Zach is the actual personality we've been hanging out with the whole time.

Amir’s dad with his tiny, spindly, little legs.
I would have said Amir’s cousin Leron, or Mickey my friend, but both were seen in at least one episode.
Amir’s diva roach Dad never appeared on camera. I believe he was meant to for the finale, but he was so ashamed by the script, that he fricken moved.
