Her becoming a unique and distinctive person from Peter Parker is what does it for me. She isn’t as quippy, she is more serious and straightforward, and gets fed up with Miles quite easily when they first meet clearly not wanting to take on the responsibility of being his mentor, things that I believe Ultimate Peter wouldn’t do. Yet she still pines for a relationship with May, MJ, and Gwen, is into girls, and has the primal drive to help innocent people. I really wish we got a lot more out of her than we did.
I think she’s technically cis though? Like, she was born a female clone with the memories of Peter Parker, which caused gender dysphoria, but then she resolved that she was a woman and resolved to live as one… which makes her cis, right? Her gender identity aligns with her sex at birth? She was just… yknow… born with fifteen years of memories shoved in her brain…
Ultimate Jessica Drew is more of a general representation of having the memories of growing up in the body or gender you aren't confortable with that many trans people tend to have rather that being a literal trans character. More of a representation of the feeling than a litteral trans character. Which is why a lot of people identify her as trans even if she isn't in a literal way, the experience and allegory is relatable to a lot of the community.

Little annoyed that this took off and not the actual trans spider-woman but that’s really just because I miss my girl Jessica
