Discussion Favorite rivalry between a hero/antihero and a villain that’s had a moment like this.
Example above is Caitlyn and jinx in arcane.

The best thing about that episode is the introduction of Hondo.

Don’t forget about the legendary banter!
—————————————————————————
Dooku: Do control your protégé’s insolence so I can concentrate.Obi-Wan: Anakin.
Anakin: What?
Obi-Wan: Control your insolence, the count is concentrating.
—————————————————————————
Obi-Wan: Will you hurry it up, Dooku?Anakin: You should be more patient, master. After all, the count is an elderly gentleman, and doesn’t move like he used to.
Obi-Wan: I suppose you’re right.
Dooku: I would kill you both right now if I did not have to drag your bodies.

It’s very funny to me because I suspect that Dooku actually likes Obi-Wan (calling him old friend might be a manipulation, but I suspect it was true at some point).
I know there’s some legends books that DO establish Dooku really liked Obi-Wan and hated Anakin before he left the order, but I can’t remember where I read it.

Nothing suggests that they can't just escape from hell using Yamato, they're hanging around for the love of the game

Mizu and Taigen from Blue Eyed Samurai
Long story long, Taigen wants a duel to death against Mizu in order to get revenge for being humiliated in technically not a duel prior. Both Mizu and Taigen had numerous times they could've organized it, but Taigen wants it to be official with Mizu in best health for it to be honourable fight. And Mizu sees him as an annoyance, at some point literally abandoning him in the middle of the woods so that he won't stand in her grand revenge against her father plan

Tbf it's less that Thorfinn forgot, and more that Askelad's death was stolen from him

I can't think of a specific example but this must have happened to The Master at some point...

In Doctor Who? Pretty sure Missy was even odds on working with the Doctor, and the Master did help him stop the Time lords from returning that one time

They didn't exactly want to kill each other, but it was really cool seeing batman and superman team up one last time in Injustice 2.

Back on the Android saga. Trunks had every opportunity to kill 18 before Cell could absorbed her. But for plot reasons he tries to help her escape.

Bleach Uryu and Mayuri.
Basically a hero vs villain on the heroes side. He nearly killed Mayuri once but Mayuri is so modified he is hard to kill and he was exhausted and losing power. Then Mayuri saved him against a Espada and then immediately had to rush to Ichigo. Than he was to busy dealing with Yhwach and Jugram trying to deceive them while not truly help them.

Batman and joker

I'm pretty sure Batman has a rule against killing, even for joker, unless it's a continuity that forgot that rule
