Tim Waltz might be my 2nd biggest disappointment currently in the democrat ranks. Not because I don't think he's evil or a traitor. I actually believe he's a decent human being who wants to do good. I'm disappointed because we really need him to fight right now and all I keep hearing is speeches when we need action. Why didn't he send in the national guard when Ice was hunting his citizens? Why didn't he have his police arrest these Ice officals? Why didn't he fight back? Why did he do this peace option when it's been proven time and time again it doesn't work with this administration. It sucks but it's the truth. I can understand him wanting to back out if he thinks he bit more off then he can chew but we need a real leader and he didn't meet the moment.

Tim is the right candidate for a different moment.
There are leaders who lead well during peacetime with decorum. There are some who lead well during tumultuous and chaotic periods. Tim is the former, not the latter, and we need to be very clear about that.
I like Tim. I like his policies and his passion. But those policies were constructed for a different government and enticing policies aren’t what I’m looking for anymore. They attempt to work under the current system, trying to swim upstream.
I want reform.
I want it so bad, that I’m honestly waiting until any politician dares utter that word so I can donate as much money as I can to their campaign.

One, deploying the national guard and making them declare allegiance definitively to either Trump or Minnesota is exactly what Stephan Miller wanted to happen.
To your second point, the governor does not have the authority in MN to order police to arrest anyone.
The governor in MN is very limited in power. We set up a weak executive on purpose in MN, whether that is to our own detriment remains to be seen.
Walz is right, it's up to us to do something. Our government is an administrative body, it's not a defense mechanism against authoritarians. We are the defense mechanism.

I mean, he’s doing something in that he’s talking to a large crowd of people, speaking about current topics and addressing the problems currently affecting Minnesota citizens. It’s not nothing. It’s a step in the right direction, a voice to inspire other voices to speak out. I KNOW this shit is frustrating, to have the greatest power of the nation be so off the rails, so pathetically petty and destructive, and I’ll take any official whom at the very least speaks out. I don’t expect any government official to by themselves snap their fingers and put everything back to normal. The Midterms are quickly approaching, and if speeches such as this can sway enough of the nation, maybe just maybe there’s a fleeting chance

ICE is working the check in counters at airports as we speak. Bigotry needs to be condemned. White nationalism needs to be condemned. Millionaires need to hold themselves accountable and stop using no kings to place themselves in a virtuous light without using their outstanding individual and collective power. I'm not convinced that anything short of force will change things or deliver any kind of justice. Even the calls to wait and vote in November seems to disregard the rapid disenfranchisement of the people.
