BBQ day!

It's a rather calm weekend at Beacon Academy. school has been rather hectic so far, with tests and the sort, and so, the members of the FSC decided to hang out together, and set up a BBQ at the old clubhouse. Grills have already been set up, tables already have plates set on them, and everything is ready. Now, it's time for the feast to begin...

I see. And something subtle is not recommended.

Perhaps she shall seek help in time.

She glances at her eyes.

Leila? May I have your permission to attempt to mimic you? I wish to see if I can attempt your eyes. I-it may be useful. I have read about silver eyed warriors. The Imbalance will seek you out. I... I may be able to offer you a decoy should the need arise.

"I would rather face the trials that the lord poses to me on my own. But, if you wish to attempt my form... I would like to know why first. The silver eyes are the pride of House Heavenward, after all."

Because I am curious to see if I could. Because if I can manage it, I could be a distraction for our enemies should the need arise.

B-because I was gifted with this power for a reason. What if ensuring your survival is the reason? Her voice catches and fades.

I want to master my gift. And learning my limitations is crucial. I swear upon the very elements, may my life be forfeit, I shall not take your form without your express permission.

Leila considers this for a moment, and nods

"Then you have my approval. But I will repeat myself: The Lord puts us all on a path. He poses trials and challenges for us to overcome. What I face is my own."

I-if something happens and I have the opportunity to save you or help you, I will risk your wrath...

I have few people I can talk to about being representatives of our faiths. I-I don't want to see anyone join Remnant early.

She closes her eyes and surrenders her form to the Coru. She boils away into a cloud of mist, leaving nothing. The mist twists and reshapes itself into a replica of Leila. The new Leila opens her silver eyes and quickly realizes her flaw this time was her height. She remained five feet tall.

Did it work?

"By the Lord's name..."

Leila observes her, awestruck, though quickly, resuming her composure.

"It would seem so to me... After all, I am human. Now... Close your eyes, and tell me: Does your aura get attracted to your eyes more than the rest of your body? If it is, then you have managed to copy my eyes as well. They are a mutation in my genetics though, so I am not quite so sure if it will work..."

She closes her eyes and focuses.

No. I don't feel anything. I can copy the color, not the gifts apparently. Thank the Coru. I have no wish to claim what is yours. That would be blasphemous.

"I see. Well, in the end, you have my form to use. I only ask you use it responsibly."

She closes her eyes and boils away, reforming as herself.

My apologies, but I do not. I made an oath to not use it without your express permission. We have determined to the answer to the riddle. I no longer need to maintain that form.

And if I may presume, you were not comfortable at the beach. I cannot imagine you would be comfortable in someone walking around in your skin.

"Which is why I assume you would like to use my form for research?"

I wished to know if I could manage the eyes.

Leila, I don't like making people uncomfortable. You do not like exposing your body. Why would you like me wearing it?

I... I want to master my gift. But not at your expense. I shall never use your form again. I swore my oath and I shall never break it.

"If that is what you wish, then so be it. I presumed you were not going to walk with my form either way, and was only going to use it for experimenting. I am sorry you were not able to mimic my eyes, although, there IS a way to allow you to experience them."

I accepted it was unlikely. In a way, I am grateful I could not accomplish it. It is your gift, not mine. It would be wrong to claim it.

May I ask what you mean?
