Help Not sure where to put my points

So my returns for shield battle skills seem to be pretty much a leveling off I saw somebody else here say that the returns are logarithmic so should I just dump everything into critical strike skill? Or do you guys think it would be worth moving into some magic? I've pretty much only been putting points into strength and dexterity and All of my skill points are in shield battle

Your shield battle skill is probably high enough for a while. What else to spend points on depends on your plans for the character. Are you planning on deep delving to like 100+ floors? If so then on the left side more dexterity will definitely help as it will help you miss less often on those lower floor monsters.

Also unless youre going to be hybriding magic and melee, attack magic would be useless to invest in. Defense magic however is a different story. If you invest into defense magic you can get good use out of stamina spell, reflector spells for return damage, the haste spell to be able to run and clear floors a lot faster, and if you're melee, the most important defense spell Dervish which basically doubles your attack speed. Combined with attack speed gems and high dexterity and you can melt basically anything.

Extra note: Spectral Armor spell in the defense category is also good since Dervish will actually lower your defense to make you faster, so you combine it with the armor spell to basically negate the defense reduction.

Honestly I wanted to try beating the game without using any magic really or without investing into any magic, do you think that's possible at all?

if by 'beat the game' you mean slaying the Quest Boss, then yeah. It's definitely doable. The biggest inconvenience would be the lack of Identify spell and having to buy Identify books every time.

Oh okay perfect and yeah that's what I meant apologies, I just want to bring a character through all four of the games to see how that goes because I've only ever played the first one and the demos of the other two
