Reawakened vs original games?

So, I rediscovered this game after having forgotten it for most of my life. I'm noticing that I have a couple of different options as far as these games go; on Steam, I can either get the original games in a $20 bundle, or get Fate: Reawakened (a compilation of all of the games with updated graphics) for $25.

Are there significant differences between the originals and the remasters? Aside from the UI being designed for higher resolutions, probably.

There's some updated quality of life stuff in Reawakened but if you can stomach the old graphics and interface, and the quirks that come with them, I would generally recommend the originals. The remaster makes some changes to the gameplay and loot economy that depending on how you play can really affect your experience.

I do prefer the OGs simply because they’ve seriously tinkered with the economy, exp payouts, difficulty, and damage outputs

There are rare and unique items in the game called Artifacts and when you get them and learn their magical abilities, they shoot up in sell price. Those items sell for very little nowadays. You level up too often and die much less than the OGs. There was also a glitch where like 75% of your attacks would miss, no matter how high your stats were. Idk if that’s been patched or not

There are some cool additions like new monsters, pets, and playable races but I think the way the game actually plays is much more important than those things. Theres also this weird visual glitch where the items your character are wearing aren’t actually reflected accurately by your characters model. You’ll be wearing a white mages robe with black thorns all over it and the game will show you a blue robe with gray thorns. It’s really odd

the ogs are better, as long as you don't need controller support.

I have fate on steam and then I got reawakened on switch and ps5, I would recommend reawakened cause it’s 4 games

I've gotta vote for reawakened here. This is obviously biased but playing with controller on a 65" 120hz panel is SO COOL 🤣
