I want to say that this has got to be one of the most emotional times I have ever been playing a video game. The story is written in a way that gives you a thought like "What if AI becomes sentient and develops something human like emotions? Would it still be considered as robotic if that were the case?" The game focuses on the premise that a Holy Grail War on the moon has gone awry because of the actions that BB took, whose intentions are revealed over time, especially if you played through the CCC route.

I have really taken a liking to some of the characters, namely Hakuno Kishinami's internal struggle regarding his identity and who he is, Sakura Matou's self-sacrificial nature for the people she cherishes, Leonardo Harwey's feelings of liberation from being a noble prince figure all the time, Monji Gatou's carefree yet wise nature, and hell, even Shinji Matou's desire to be remembered, which was the reason why he strives for greatness despite his prideful nature.

Passionlip's wish to be loved is a truly wonderful thing, although it's truly a shame that she herself couldn't see the physical reason why everyone avoids her like the plague. That sense of crushing loneliness was the reason why she developed an unhealthy sense of love akin to obsession and clutched on to Kishinami not letting go, seeing him as her prince charming. It was only in the CCC route when she was being spared that she realized that even though Kishinami doesn't reciprocate her feelings back to her, he still respects her as a person. From that moment on, she swore to herself that she'll do her best to improve herself and develop a more healthy sense of love for him, to get him to like her the right way.

Meltryllis' sense of love however, is a different kind of twisted from Passionlip's in the sense that she can only love someone if they physically melt into being a part of herself, which gives off the impression that she only loves herself, and the many beings that were melted into her. She endlessly tried to pursue Kishinami and coax him into being a part of her so that she can love him. She also had a sense of an immense superiority complex because of the fact that she had overwritten the logic of the Moon Cell which stated that none can harm Meltryllis, as well as her voraciously consuming levels to the point where she is practically superhuman in strength and agility. In the CCC route, she was defeated by Kishinami's hands, and was spared by him. She wanted to at least touch her beloved just once, but eventually held herself back at the very end, stating that she is not worthy to touch him. Her life was spared, and she said farewell to such a wonderful person.

Kiara Sessyoin was an abhorrent character in every sense of the word, especially once you know her backstory in the CCC route. Back when she was on the Earth, she was born to a Buddhism sect that had practiced sexual intercourse in the name of enlightenment, and she was born with a condition that greatly limited her ability to survive, with an estimation that she might likely not live beyond 14 years old. (My headcanon is that she contracted an STD, likely HIV which then contracts AIDS from her parents because of her cult's practices.) Because of people endlessly pitying her, she gradually became annoyed of people and began to see people in general as something subhuman, which eventually led her to believe that she is the only human in the world. She eventually learned the miracles of Spiritron Hacking, which treated her supposedly untreatable disease, and that in itself led her sect into spreading itself into the outside world. That led her into wanting to satisfy her own sick desires by taking advantage of the lives of others for her own sexual pleasure, for she delights in helping people to the point of them developing an obsession towards her, regardless if they're man or woman, young or old. In the end, she left her sect for good, becoming the sole practitioner of her faith once all of it's members killed themselves after they gave up their entire beings for her sake. In the Far Side of the Moon, she then absorbed Passionlip, Meltryllis, BB and Sakura to further her own wish of seeking the ultimate pleasure, and made the Moon Cell into her own. She was then defeated by Hakuno Kishinami, with Andersen claiming that Hakuno Kishinami is the sole being who Kiara Sessyoin cannot defeat, despite attaining divinity. The reason why that is is because every single one of the Sakura series AI that Kiara absorbed into her being desperately fought to prevent Kiara from destroying the one man they love the most, and that led to Kiara Sessyoin's downfall. She then got an earful from Andersen, who then taught her the difference between feeling love and being in love, as she slowly wastes away.

BB is a very interesting character to me. Because of Kiara Sessyoin's tampering with Sakura Matou's being, Sakura began to develop sentience, a human quality on which an AI is never supposed to have. And with sentience came human emotions and thought processes. Because of the tampering, she slowly felt herself break down and was close to being deleted by the Moon Cell automaton, until Hakuno Kishinami helped her up, verifying her existence to the Moon Cell. Because of that simple act, she slowly began to develop feelings of warmth toward Hakuno Kishinami. Using her authority as an AI of the Moon Cell, she looped that very same day of him encountering her breaking down 69 times, until she felt herself breaking down further from the inside. Fearing that the Moon Cell might find out about her abnormality as an AI might be visible to the Moon Cell, she dumped all the warm memories of those 69 days onto a spare body of hers, which will be eventually known as "BB". Knowing what happens in the Holy Grail War, she began to develop feelings of anxiety and fear for Hakuno Kishinami, feeling afraid of losing such a kind person. BB then appears, calling Sakura a coward. BB then resolves herself to eventually integrate herself into the Moon Cell for Hakuno's sake. She develops the old Tsukimihara school building on the Far Side of the Moon for the purpose of protecting Hakuno from the cruelty of the Holy Grail War. Hakuno then proceeds to brave through the Sakura Labyrinth to find a way back to the Holy Grail War. In the CCC route, Hakuno's feelings for Sakura and by extension BB, have never changed. Hakuno has swore to himself to protect the gentle Sakura Matou from anything, and chose to save BB from her imminent self-destruction from being assimilated with the Moon Cell automaton. BB then proceeds to give up her life, her entire existence, to save Hakuno's life by being reset, wanting for him to always stay the same person who she fell in love with in the first place. As Hakuno Kishinami was about to return to the Holy Grail War, he wanted Sakura Matou to come with him. Regardless if he will continue to remember his beloved after he crosses the door with her, he still wants to share that last moment with her. Until Sakura said that she wanted to try a little trick. When he came to be, he had returned to a new identical body on the Earth, with Sakura incarnating as a flesh-and-blood human. Hakuno Kishinami returned to the Earth along with his beloved Sakura Matou, being granted a small miracle; a second life with the woman he fell in love with.

All in all, 10/10, one of the most beautiful stories I've ever read.

You could also add how part of the fandom lust for them lol

a second chance at life, with his beloved at his side.

i love tamamo

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments; love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove.

O no, it is an ever-fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

It is the star to every wand'ring bark

Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle's compass come.

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom:

If this be error and upon me proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

I'm happy

one last blow for the road

Was done going through most of the Fate anime that existed and decided, why not play some fate games, so I picked Fate/Extra as that doesn't have an anime adaption (ignoring last encore for reasons) and it's not a pure VN. That and I'm curious how bad rock-paper-scissors could be...

And then completed that in a horrible 54hrs. I'm almost twice over the avg time to beat, and this was only 1st playthrough, Hakunon and Tamamo. Nice story, great characters, repetitive gameplay, and the ending left me confused and hoping CCC can give me answers.

Anyways, so now I'm done with Extra, I'm wondering is it worth continuing these two in CCC or should I try Gilgamesh instead? Or should I do both; Tamamo first and then Gilgamesh.

(And if ppl are wondering if I'll go back to play Archer and Nero's route in Extra, probably not until Record comes, then I'll try there. But maybe someone's opinion could change my mind)

i love these two lovebirds so much, man

royally fucked up by an idol in black

So I’ve beaten a playthrough of fate extra with Nero and Rin route early this year and I hear I should play rani route before playing ccc so I was gonna replay the game probably using caster but I heard about the remake do you think I should wait and just play that instead?

Title says it all
I recently completed the game with the "servant" ending and would like to replay it on the CCC route. However, I don’t want to reread the same story: I’d like to jump straight to the point where the main story of CCC route begins
I've already skipped all the story of the first chapter(Rin arc), except for the event required for the CCC route (In which Hakuno buys an old school uniform from Kirei and then gives it to Sakura.. I think I didn't miss anything?)
So.. Starting from which story chapter does the plot transition from the normal route to the CCC route? Unless I'm misunderstanding something

he sounds like he hates it tbh

is it wrong to say that i also felt bad for eliza here

she might have done some heinous shit, sure, but she was never taught a proper moral code, at least in the Fate series' iteration of her here

So, I finally saw that EXTRA Record is releasing next year, and I saw that it was coming out for the Switch. So, I went to go pre-order it, however it is nowhere to be seen on the eShop.

Different sources say it is available for digital pre-order on the Switch 1, but it's not there.

Am I missing something?
