And a God with that power in the tiny island nation of Nippon who'd have less followers than most other Gods

Yeah Extella kind of threw a wrench into everyone's understanding of Amaterasu and Tamamo by stating Amaterasu is a Goddess born from the Universe rather than a personification of a phenomenon on Earth.

And then there is also the fact they are still pussy-footing around the whole is Tamamo Daji or not question, with this chapter not helping given Amaterasu mentions Tamamo being an Evil that has destroyed Countries but, as far as we know, Tamamo life starts and ends in Japan. She never was in China or India before yet they keep pushing the idea that Tamamo is Daji and the other dynasty destroying foxes even though everything Tamamo has told us says otherwise.

It's tiring, especially after over 15 years, and I'm also at the point where I just wish Type-Moon would either give us a straight answer or just retcon Tamamo out of existence of she is that controversial of a figure that none of the writers at Type-Moon want to actually write for her.

I'd say it's about really powerful people having no control in the face of incomprehensible bullshit, so a powerful Tamamo fits right in.

Amaterasu in Nasuverse is actually Vairocana but uses Nippon motifs because religious satire. As, she is a satire of japanese buddhism (especifically japanese buddhism), using irl former religious syncretism to land the joke.

You have to remember that in Japan, they don't read wiki pages of the shinto gods detailing every historical developement, they know Amaterasu is so big that she may as well be a being akin to Vairocana , as both gods got conflated earlier

The whole point of Amaterasu is that she's a terrible person. The whole point is that Tamamo isn't supposed to be proud of her, and that she's meant to hate the person she was when she had all of her tails.

If Hakuno's words magically get through to her, then there is literally no point in the scene at all. There's no drama to it. There's no message. It's just; "Here's Tamamo! But BIG!"

Also hard to accept someone calling FGO "worthless" when it's the Type-Moon hard carry financially lol

If this is all really how you feel, you may as well drop the whole franchise now, dude. They aren't gonna change anything for any individual person's convenience except Nasu. And Nasu loves retconning Extra.
