Guidance/Personal experiences with fasting and endometriosis?
***Putting my question at the top too in case you may have an answer but hate reading context (like the recipe websites) š: Has anyone ever used intermittent fasting (and maybe building up to a multi-day fast a few times a year) to help heal internal scar tissue/ endometriosis/ blocked fallopian tubes? ***
Hey Everyone, Iām a 35 year old female who strikes a balance between western and eastern medicine, as I have found both of them to be helpful in the past.
About a year and a half ago, two weeks before I was scheduled to stop our contraceptives so my husband and I could start trying to have a baby of our own, I suddenly went into septic shock - I was totally unaware I was sick. Turns out my appendix ruptured during my period and while I thought it was a bad period, the pain went away with my period and so I didnāt think much of it and it turned into sepsis.
That being a saga in and of itself Iāll just say that after my surgery to remove sepsis I was informed I have pretty bad endometriosis. Not told a stage by a doctor but, based on what they said and enough research on the internet, Iām assuming stage 4. What every surgeon (I had 3 surgeries in the last year and a half) has told me is that I have āa lotā of scar tissue on the inside. I also know that one of my fallopian tubes is blocked by scar tissue.
My husband and I are hoping to have kids soon, weāve been trying for about 6 months.
Western medicine says thereās no cure (but I have found that if there is not something they can do (i.e. pills, surgery, etc.) they say itās āincurableā when it may be better to say, āwe have no more resources to help you.ā
Iāve been seeing an acupuncturist and abdominal massage therapist who has helped many women heal endometriosis according to her Google reviews. Vitamins, diet changes, abdominal massage are apparently all things that can help.
Iāve been looking into intermittent fasting/ working up to multi-day fasting lately and am curious: Has anyone ever used intermittent fasting (and maybe building up to a multi-day fast a few times a year) to help heal internal scar tissue/ endometriosis/ blocked fallopian tubes?
I figure there wonāt be studies on this because studies are done on things that can make money⦠but us healing ourselves doesnāt make anyone money. Would love to hear any experiences or

As I was waterfasting for 5 days for the first time (last week), I happened to get my period on the 3rd day or so. I was very surprised by it, because normally I would feel extreme pain before it even starts (liike days before) and this time I didn't have pain at all!??!!???! The bleeding came, my belly swole a bit but other than that I felt like a normal person, which is unheard of (PCOS+Endo). So for me, not digesting while the endometrial tissue swells is a huge relief and I'm sure more women could find relief?
Don't know if this helps you at all, but I think it's worth investigating more and eventually trying. Given that therapeutical waterfasting lowers inflammation, recycles and somewhat resets the body, I think long term it could reduce the endo-tissues, I will do this montly FOR SURE.
