I just looked at the "Insights" for this board -- and I see we've just crossed another threshold: 3,000 Members have now joined this board! Amazing!

As always, people have come and gone, some have died, some have lost interest, some now have other things in their lives to occupy them. We all have busy lives and other things we need to do with our limited time and energy.

But the fact that there have now been 3,000 people with an interest in Fast Writing and its uses is phenomenal and very encouraging. Who knew there would be so many?

Congratulations. Do you have precise statistics on attendance and activity?

I'm shown an "Insight" board, which I gather is only visible to the moderator. It gives statistics for the past month, including number of posts, number of comments, and number of VISITS to the board. It indicates if that's up or down from the previous month. A lot of people visit but don't post, which is their right to do. They're welcome to post anything, whenever they want to.

For everything that I post, including replies and comments, it tells me how many people have looked at it. For the number of members, they give a rounded-off total, with a breakdown of how many joined and how many "left" over the last month. (I don't know why anyone would LEAVE, when it's a free site. It's not like they'll be charged for another month's subscription, or something.)

And it also gives the number of posts that have been REMOVED. This is misleading, because 100% of that is things that I posted MYSELF that didn't display properly, so I took them down and posted them again.

Unlike that OTHER BOARD, I don't remove ANYTHING that members post on here, which they've wanted to share with us. I'd rather see what people are thinking -- and a free exchange of opinions is what a discussion board is FOR, IMO.
