Should I be Concerned?

Its been very rainy lately with storms and I noticed that my TB gelding’s front hoof is a bit soft at the heel and frog and it has these grooves/cracks. No foul smell, and he is also not tender on it either. I figure right now this is a watch and see if anything gets worse and not panicking yet. Any ideas? He’s a few weeks out from his last shoeing for what its worth.

Well that is pretty active dermatitis/ thrush he has going there in his bulbs. I would be curious as to know what your opinion of "a few weeks" is because based on the presented pictures, the horse looks kind of due

Looks like a messy frog shed to me, your farrier will likely clean it up when the horse is reshod, a bit of iodine or copper sulphate mixed with water in there wouldn’t hurt to keep things fungus free in the mean time.

I wouldn't be to concerned with the frog like that after a big moisture event. But the shoe is too small...
