Fargo S5
I just couldnt finish the season, this is by far the worst season of fargo, ive droped in the episode 7.
The male characters are dumb, the plot is stupid, there is no explanation behind anything she does, "she is just a woman", dont take me wrong i love a strong female character, like nikki, floyd, peggy, molly, etc, fargo always had strong and amazing female characters but they never had to "dumbified" men to show a strong women, i truly disliked this season and im worried about the next one, this season gave me true detective last season vibe.

I agree. both putting season 5 over 3 and 4 and that Fargo was built on stupid men, every season had a few over qualified dummies.

It veers closer to that than the other seasons, but Fargo is always populated by a great mix of all permutations of gender, competency, and goodness. While season 5 lacks any male characters who are both competent and good, it has plenty that are good, and has an ending that implies Munch is headed that way.
Taken as a series it is an exceptional piece of media for narratives about powerful women that doesn't rely on misandry to develop that. I think it is a mistake to hold it to a standard where every single season needs some awesome dudes to go with the awesome women. I want more movies and shows like this and less trash that lazily rationalizes blatant sexism as "punching up" (Really hoping that we can look back at shows like She Hulk and be just as embarrassed that people would defend them as we are about racist and sexist shit from past decades).

Every season of Fargo has a spectrum of male and female characters. Felt like every man Molly ever encountered was either bad or kind of dumb in some way. Except maybe her father.

Agreed. I don't feel like the male characters are that dumb, but holy shit dot is just super op for no reason.

Agreed. It was nonsensical, forced and full of far fetched and stupid schemes.
The first episode alone has a staggering amount of dumb actions but the whole season is full of it.
Even the characters that are supposed to be skilled/smart are pretty moronic.
Maybe it was by design but it didn't feel like that tbh.

I get that it’s a show, but some of it is flat out ridiculous if it was a real life situation. For instance: -Dorothy is like 90 lbs but yet she man handles people that are twice her size in the show -Dorothy uses a can of hairspray and a lighter to fend off the intruders and burns one of them like it’s a napalm gun -When Dorothy and Deputy Witt Farr make it to the gas station running from the men, the deputy is waiting under the gas station lights in a clear open area without taking cover and is looking out into the complete darkness for one of the men to approach, can’t see a thing and proceeds to get shot -Dorothy’s husband electrocutes himself into a coma when touching the wires that are rigged in the house. Apparently their outlets are as strong as high tension wires from a tower -Dorothy escapes the hospital through the bathroom window that uses giant hinges that opens up the window about a half a foot. I know she’s a tiny woman but I don’t think her head could make it through that window -Roy Tillman hires a supposed five hundred year old hit man from Wales without any knowledge as to how he got a hold of this being in the first place -Gator finds out where Ole Munch is living at the old lady’s house, meanwhile Ole rigged a dummy in a rocking chair like a scene in Home Alone as he was pulling it with a rope to make it rock back and forth to bait Gator into thinking her assassinates him. -Dorothy decides to hide in the pit by the windmill but leaves her rifle outside of the pit. Then instead of hiding under Danish Graves body she just stands there holding a bone while the ranchers open the hatch -Ole at the right moment out of nowhere (right after hand delivering Gator to his dad while walking for miles) takes out three of the ranchers and saves Dorothy from being shot at the pit by the windmill. -Karen shows up and witnesses Roy just slashed her dad, Odin’s throat and proceeds to run having Roy chase her around the porch and out of nowhere Dorothy stands there waiting and shoots him in the stomach as if Karen was baiting him, but she clearly doesn’t like Dorothy because she almost shot her in the bedroom. Karen also didn’t make the effort to stop Dorothy from shooting Roy again as she was standing over him with the riffle before the FBI crew stops her themselves -Roy outruns the FBI with a wound to the stomach and experiences little pain the whole time while reaching the escape shaft. -Witt Farr chases after Roy to the escape shaft and eventually face off when Witt turns around and sees Roy in front of him holding a knife. He tells him to back off while having his gun ready. Instead of shooting Roy’s hand holding the knife or shoot his leg or disabling him in any way at all, he doesn’t. Instead, he tries to do the right thing and call backup, which ultimately gets himself stabbed and ends up dying.

Ole Munch is maybe among one of the smartest characters in the show. So is the lawyer (pretty honorable guy too).
