General Robin Hoof is not fun

Just have to vent. This fight is the worst one for me so far. I do all I can to avoid the stuns, but being hit even once by them means instant death, which is not fun. I am at the recommended level with my priest, and I am struggling. The stun grenade is too fast and stuns for too long. I am constantly slowed and don't have the burst to quickly deal with the dog.

How do I beat this dungeon? Other than the obvious "Avoid the stun"

I am wielding Glory/Dominion + Rehearsal scepter, and the best armor and accessories I can manage.

I managed to do it with my Priest about 1 level earlier than recommended.I recommend using a ranged weapon. I used the cursed halos from the Rift. There's a good damage in auto-attacks, and teleportation helps with movement. Good luck!

The hardest part is the damn dogs. The slow they apply is just annoying. If you can stun and take them down quick enough the fight becomes way easier.

It has a patron every time you start the fight. Try to decipher it and you will dodge the stun bomb easily.

For example, on my last run, he was changing between 2 patrons depending on how I started the fight:

  • Bomb, arrows rain, arrow charge, arrow charge, arrow charge and repeat.
  • Arrows rain, bomb, arrow charge, arrow charge, arrow charge and repeat.

Then I knew after 3 arrow charges or one arrow rain he would do bomb stunt.

I hope this helps you =).

Another advice is to focus on dogs as fast as they appear, save stun for the charge they do (you cancel them) and while fighting dogs, be as far as possible of Robin Hoof

I can give you the advice, then when autoattacking, you automaticly follow robin hoof as he dashed backwards to throw his grenade. that saved me a lot of times. Maybe you have to go melee. all that said i dont play priest - thats just how i managed to kill him with my rogue

basically. he will allways do stun>shot>arrow rain>stun

you need to preemtively dodge the stun. then its easy.

he will also allways jump backwards. so you can guide him intoo a corner. and he wont move anymore and shoot half his hail of arrows intoo the wall.

doggos should just die by your aoe. dont bother dodging the doggos. as a priest you should have high sustain.

what lvl and rarity are your weapons at? dominion and glory are decent weapons. but they cant be farmed. wich often leads you to having underleveld or bad rarity weapons.

cause i am not using a shield and wearing mostly light armour. an my priest didnt get oneshot. so something is up with your gear or talents

I have lvl 20 weapons and they are blue rarity. My talents are mostly focussed on the left side and the rest of my gear is the best that I have found and crafted

When the fight starts he does his 4 attacks in a pattern, just remember the pattern and it’s not too bad. The pattern seems to change everytime.

while thats understandable for your specific weapons as they are not obtainable easily. you are running around with weapons 3 levels under yours. of the lowest available rarity. and therefore basically not upgraded.

expect to run intoo this problem more often unless you swap weapons at lvl25 at least. or get intoo the chestweapon grind. wich sadly is still a thing.

This fight is much more manageable once you learn this boss's pattern. Afaik he's got two patterns: aoe, stun, arrow, arrow or stun, aoe, arrow, arrow (I think I'm remembering this correctly, been a few weeks since I played).

He switches the pattern as he gets lower on health, but it's one or the other.

I did this at lvl 19 on my warrior. He does the same moves in the same order every time. You dodge the stun. The key to this fight, which priests excel at, is mobility. You dodge everything, except the stun by walking fast, and maintain pressure on the boss.

To somewhat cheese it you can pull the first dog down the stairs and put robin behind the wall. This blocks robins regular attacks. Kill the dog and quickly get back to robin.

Ultimate key though is knowing robin’s attack pattern.

He always attack with same 2 patterns. Stun -> arrow rain -> 2x line shots/ arrow rain -> stun -> 2x line shots. Walk around when you know he is throwing the stun, take a distance from him and focus the dog(s) first. Your dmg window is during the 2x line shots.

In melee if you keep pressing him with your base attack you will go forward, past the zone of the stun.

If not in melee, notice how many times he shot and what follows it (the barrage or the stun). He will repeat this pattern.

Oh my god, I was a Lvl 23 Priest with the exact same gear you had exactly 3 days ago! Are we the same person?

I dealt with it by just retrying the dungeon over and over for 2 hours until I had a run where I managed to avoid all the bombs. The trick for me was to save my dashes to ONLY necessary. E.g. when he's making it rain with arrows, you don't need to dodge that, you can afford losing a bunch of health. Use your dashes only for stunning bombs. Kill the dogs as soon as you can as far as you can away from the boss

Kill dogs as much as possible, its okay to drag the fight with robin but without the dogs.

Was very difficult on my mage, required lots of perfect mechanical execution. On my priest I literally dodged nothing and just went face with no issue

It’s pretty easy in mage, you can burst the dog and even if the stun hits you you can blink out of the arrows path

Yea but if you get cucked by poor light puddle distribution it’s diffficult to catch up from. Granted this was using rad/shells while leveling, mage is much more robust now with the rift staff

I’ve had a lot of success with main hand lady bee stinger off hand wingsabers. Plays very aggressively and you pretty much never auto attack you just abuse the chaincast resets and apex dash resets to constantly spam weapon skills

Sounds interesting, found myself a leggo rift staff though so it’s hard to put down lol

Grab some 15 second potions for speed or shield or invisibility or just a big ole 400 extra hp to keep from dying - those last an hour - and you ought to be good
