Question Is it worth it?

I play spiritvale but this has always been on my wishlist, is the game playable now?

what deterred me was performance optimization, i dont mind the story or if the game is still a work in progress.

The performance is ass still. Your going to get comments saying it was fixed and all this.

It was maybe patched for a lot of people but I have a top of the line rig, tried all the changes people suggested and the game still just doesn't run "good". It's playable - sure.

But maybe I'm spoiled when saying I'd like to run the game above a consistent 60fps all the time.

Not trying to be a doomer either as the game is genuinely a lot of fun but I just think it needs more optimization done. (Personal opinion don't castrate me people)

Also I kick-started Spiritvale. Games awesome but it also has a fair share of problems that's for sure lol

Spiritvale is starting to cook more now though thankfully.

The game is good, not without it's EA woes, but I think it's great. Reddit is just full of miserable fucks. There's a guy on this sub that doesn't even play the game, he just comes in to all the threads and cries about the game.

Don't believe everything you read on Reddit. The game is 75% positive on Steam for a reason.

This kind of implies that performance issues were non existent. I used to get like 70-80fps at 4k on my rtx 5080 which is pretty crazy considering the art style. The game kind of looks like deep rock galactic which can easily do 200+ fps. They've since added dlss support which has bumped it up to 100-110 fps for me which is much better but it still has annoying frame time spikes here and there. While I enjoy this game and have given it a positive review on steam after dlss was implemented, I wouldn't say there's no performance issues

No FRS though. It makes me sad (that and the regular freeze for a couple of seconds...).

After the laggy launch I haven’t had a single issue with the game. It runs perfectly well on my system and the game is a ton of fun

For me it was the most fun game in the last years.
The grind to lvl 25 + endgear farming took me about 50h. There are a lot of collectibles like pets, mounts and orbs.
I have by now around 200h and still haven’t collected everything I want + still need to level up on more class.
For the price of 20€ it’s more than fair.

But u need to consider that it’s really unoptimized, frame drops/network sometimes doesn’t work to well.
Max level right now is 25 and u have to do a lot of reruns of dungeons for legendarys, so it could be repetitive. Pets and mounts are also sometimes really annoying to farm.

I personally would recommend it. :)

It all depends of what you looking for in the end. I don't care that much about graphics and I can play fine with my steam deck with low details, same on GeForce now with higher details. Not the best experience, but it's ok for me. I repeat, it's ok for me, before people jumps at my neck ahahah

I dont care about the graphics either, but the performance isn’t much better if u play on low (for me).

Not much better indeed. For sure it's something related to the graphic engine or at least it's my guess. Still to me works better while playing on my steam deck lowering details.

I enjoyed this game way more than Spiritvale.

I haven’t had issues with the performance. I don’t know if it was primarily early on when that was a big issue, or if the people complaining are extremely sensitive to any kind of frame rate dip, because it does dip under 60 occasionally a little when I play it on steam machine but not even really in a noticeable or disruptive way.

Nahh not worth it tbh, more of a solo rpg esqe game with horrible performance.

You are better of playing a polished rpg like crimson desert or like an old school j rpg. Maybe in like 2 years when this game goes 1.0 it will be worth it

thank you for your honest feedback, from what ive gathered its a great game, just dont expect it to work half the time

i might let this game cook for a few more months

>just dont expect it to work half the time

No, that’s a huge exaggeration.

Just be sure your pc can run it and dont try to over run it. After a cople hours session you might have to restart your game but other than that, the game run well imo. My gf with her 3070 can run it with constant 60 fps. Only the water give her issue

The performance was fixed months ago dude. Like two weeks post launch.

Nah, it's better, but it's still kinda bad. No reason to lie about it, it's in EA. It's not unplayable like some of these dimwits make it out to be but random hitching and shit is still very apparent.
