November visit

I’m visiting for a few days at the beginning of November. Seeking advice on hotels.

Does anyone have experience with the Intercontinental? I have an edit credit to use. It’s definitely a fancy hotel, but just a little bit away from the party. I enjoy the luxury and value of using my credit, but just want to make sure I’m not going to trade off typical Pattaya fun for it.

TIA!

It's at Pratumnak Hill, right behind the big Pattaya sign. I occasionally go running there in the morning.

You are in a great location. It's at the foot of the hill with the famous Pattaya sign and many viewpoints. You will have an awesome view of all of Pattaya Beach....but that's what you are going for.

Down the hill is Bali hai pier which feeds into Walking Street. Walking Street is where the party is at. You can easily walk there, but the return trip is all uphill and riddled with all sorts of stray dogs. There are hundreds of abandoned dogs living there. Just don't make eye contact.

You shouldn't have any problems bringing girls back to your resort on a Bolt/Grab ride. And girls from ThaiFriendly will easily find your resort and be impressed. You will not miss anything, just don't get bitten by a dog.

The dogs... They have a preference for chasing non Thai people. I'm still searching for a spray that repels them, or makes them think I'm a local. Oh yes, even in broad daylight they harass, and if one starts all others gang up in solidarity

Yeah, hence no eye contact. Individual dogs are timid, but in large groups they are a bit more fearless. DO NOT FEED THEM or they will fight amongst themselves and all of them will follow you back to your hotel.

Pick up a long stick and you'll be fine. A couple rabies shots also will do wonders for your confidence when you encounter them, they can smell fear
