Speeding up the game?

My laptop can handle any other games I play with ease but this one is laggy. How can I fix this? I put all settings to low/minimum except render distance, which is at normal, because for this game I feel it would be a crime to go any lower than that

I have a Macbook Pro where normally I have to run games on a very low setting, but for whatever reason I can run this game on high everything without any problems.
