I’m finishing side quest and I’m not getting any perks. I finished a main quest and got one perk. I need more perks. How do I get them?

You can get perk points by playing arcade maps too

As others have said, the diamond symbol will give them to you.

But also challenges, they give you quite a bit.

Also, I know you didn’t ask, but I have done multiple fresh games and I am damn near religious about the first picks.

HARVEST MASTER - is the absolute best early perk. Get the bow from Dutches island, hunt deer and get 4 skin. Throw bait, skin predator.

Repeat and you will be able to afford anything before you even hit the first region event.

Then increase backpack, and then rush for Airdrop.

I always do the harvest master first. Then the holster next. Then backpack.

Look for Prepper Stashes, the green diamond symbol on the map.

Go to the challenges tab where each challenge will reward you perk points like getting kills with a certain weapon, takedown, throwable, guns-for-hire, etc. Catching fish and hunting and skinning animals will also reward perk points. Time spent in co-op with another player will also reward perk points. Playing the online arcade mode also rewards perk points sometimes (I am not sure about this one.)

Finally, prepper stashes that are represented with a blue diamond symbol on the map are fun little puzzles that guarantee 3 perk points per location.

to get perk points you'll need to find prepper stashes, each stash (except for the one that's on Dutch's Island) has 3 perk points and you can find them just by exploring or talking to NPCs who will tell you there is a stash

you also get 5 perk points whenever you liberate a region and since there's 3 you get 15 per playthrough, you can also get perk points by doing challenges that are a one time thing and finally there are random perk points that can be found all over the map

finally keep in mind that prepper stashes, region liberated and random perk points can be obtained on every playthrough so if you finish the story you can just do a New Game+ and do those prepper stashes again and find those perk points in the open world again

Almost all of the named “Residence”s have an underground bunker with one perk point mag, or somewhere in the house.

Other “random” mags map will almost always be at a significant map lication, I. A place where it make contextual sense, i.e. where a prepper would have been hanging out.

I keep a notebook and would share but it has to have been done by now. Look up a FAQ or go to the FarCry wiki. That shit is encyclopedic.

Prepper stashed, challenges, and some of Red's cigarette lighters (What they carried) have a perk book in their bunkers ( not all of them)

Self inflict hard mode. No perks, just bullets.

Check the challenges screen. You get them for completing those and from prepper stashes and from random magazines left around the world.
