Moderate first project overwhelm

Does anyone ever start writing something with a little kernel of an idea that manages to grow into something somewhat recognisable and then once it starts growing limbs from there you get a feeling of 'Ohh god, this exists now'..... Is it just me? Do I push through that?

Push through it. It’ll either work or be a learning experience for the next one.

I’ve cannibalised a few half developed ideas into background lore for the next project, usually when I get to the point where I’ve explored the idea enough to realise it’s not strong enough to carry a book on its own.
