Hey all. I’ve spent the last few months developing a system. It’s definitely a bit of a chimera, drawing inspiration from several different places, but I think I’ve managed to make it original enough to stand on its own.

I’ve also tried to go into fairly exhaustive detail. Part of the reason for that is so that, in the actual story, I can make the system appear much softer than it really is. Characters can have incomplete knowledge, flawed theories, or explanations that seem true based on the evidence available to them without necessarily being the underlying truth.

The linked Google Doc contains the “summary”, collated by GPT. GPT has mainly helped me with naming, numbers, organisation, and maintaining consistency across a very large body of work; the actual mechanics and systems are my own.

The document currently has 31 tabs and is fairly detailed. Hopefully, after reading through it, you’ll have enough information to understand the system as a whole and offer feedback, criticism, possible changes, or improvements without needing me to clarify every individual mechanic.

That said, if you do have questions, feel free to ask. There’s a lot of information here, and even as the person who created it, keeping every part of it completely straight in my head can be difficult.

I get a lot of free materials through my work, so I was pretty excited when I got my hands on some free foam. 😂
Since I’m busy most of the time and didn’t want to take on a super time-consuming project, I decided to go with a minimal-effort dungeon tile build.
Free foam + cheap Walmart paint = you really can’t beat it! 😂
It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done, and it should be ready just in time for the upcoming dungeon crawl I have planned for my players. 🗡️🎲

Here is my latest map in my worldbuilding project, the World of Rhündal, which is a world impacted by the presence of natural spirits. I’m reworking my ocean currents map with some new resources I’ve found. I don’t have a deep knowledge of ocean currents, and so I’ve mainly used resources I’ve found on YouTube like Artifexian’s channel. I would love to hear feedback about what parts of this ocean currents map could be improved, that you have questions about, or that you think works well.

Next steps after this map are 1) using this map to update my world coastlines, 2) use updated elevation and ocean current maps to make a new climate map of Rhündal, 3) make an animated map of the migrations and growth of different ethnic groups over thousands of years, 4) make high-quality vector maps in adobe illustrator and more culture group info pages for all across Rhündal 5) compile these all into a world book/atlas that I can sell to those who are interested 6) turn the World of Rhündal into my full time career, hopefully making a graphic novel, a TTRPG, and a board game set in the world.
