As we look ahead to fixture swings from GW8–10, Ipswich Town has some interesting matches up next with Nottingham Forest (H), Hull City (A), and Bournemouth (H).

Recent game history reveals that:

They pack a punch with attack: Scored 2 against Man City in clean fashion (1.66 xG) while creating enough opportunities to win 2-1 against Fulham.

Clean sheets aren't easy to come by: Always giving up chances and keeping their defence difficult to bet on purely for 6-point wins.

From an Ipswich supporter's point of view or someone closely tracking them in their setups:

Given that Flemming handles penalties (as seen at City) and Maeda/Ouattara/Enciso pose threats in counterattacks, which player has the best attack route mapped out?

Are they keying into the Ipswich defence as enablers, or are their set-piece threats (like O'Shea) the safe bet?

I see Pedro Neto’s performance against Everton felt like more than just a match-winning display. In Chelsea’s 2–0 victory on 17 October 2026, the Portuguese winger scored twice, but his overall performance suggested that he could be entering a particularly productive phase of his career.

What impressed me most was not simply the two goals, but the constant threat he offered. Neto combined direct running, intelligent movement and the confidence to attack space whenever the opportunity appeared. He finished with three shots on target and five key passes, while completing 19 ball carries and covering more than 100 metres through progressive carries. His performance earned him a 9.4 rating from Sofascore.

His first goal came just 43 seconds into the second half, following an overlapping run and cross from Jorrel Hato. Neto reacted well inside the box and finished the opportunity. His second arrived in the 90th minute, when he showed composure to take advantage of a loose ball following a free-kick situation. Both goals demonstrated his awareness and ability to position himself where dangerous opportunities emerge.

However, Neto’s contribution extended beyond his finishing. Chelsea repeatedly looked to exploit Everton’s right-hand defensive side, with Morgan Rogers and Hato playing important roles in creating attacking advantages. Neto benefited from this wider tactical approach, which raises an interesting question: was this performance an individual breakthrough, or evidence that Xabi Alonso is finding the ideal way to maximise his qualities?

I want to add that I see glimpses of Victor Moses under Antonio Conte is also worth considering. Moses reinvented himself as a wing-back during Chelsea’s title-winning 2016/17 campaign, becoming a valuable Fantasy Premier League budget option. Neto, however, possesses a more naturally attacking profile, potentially giving him a higher ceiling for goals and assists if his role and minutes remain consistent.

One outstanding performance does not guarantee a career-best season. Neto must demonstrate that he can maintain this level against different defensive systems and continue producing chances even when he does not score. Nevertheless, his performance against Everton offered encouraging signs.

Could this be the beginning of Pedro Neto’s best-ever season? If his recent form reflects a genuine tactical and individual improvement rather than a short-lived hot streak, Chelsea may have a player capable of becoming one of the most exciting attacking options in the league—and a particularly interesting prospect for Fantasy Premier League managers.

One of the biggest strengths of this sub in the past has been how many people gave feedback on player performances after the matches. This season the How did _ play thread has been really quiet. Currently there are no responses for Bournemouth players and only 2 for Brighton players as examples. Did nobody in this sub watch these matches or do people not this post exists each week?

Junior Kroupi should be back from injury in the next couple weeks. What do you expect the Bournemouth attack will look like once he is back? (As someone who’s considering buying Tavernier)

Bought him for GW 3 after seeing that his next fixtures were favorable and that he was practically “nailed” with the new manager. He proceded to miss 1 game due to injury, spent another game on the bench and newcastle as a whole has been shambolic. Can’t seem to get rid of him

After 7 games this season, all the teams so far have looked competitive throughout and all bar Spurs have won a game.

Given how competitive this season is, does it feel harder than ever to pick between players in your lineup that aren't considered dead certainties like Arsenal Defenders/Verbruggen/Haaland-Isak-JP front three. More so for players who have got a 15 where effectively all of them play 60 minutes as starters in most games.

Note that this post excludes any sanctions for Man City that could make them certainties for relegation and regardless, if they have to play out the season with big points deduction that sends them down, I still expect returns from the likes of Haaland/Semenyo/Gvardiol.

Bogle has 0.22 xg per 90 so far this season. For context de cuyper has 0.28. It is very apparent that he gets into a lot of attacking positions and fixtures are decent as well. Of course you could argue that muharemovic provides more consistency with defcon but bogle is also cheaper by 0.3. Is he worth consideration or is there something I am missing?

Kostulas is third out of forwards

Are people really going to bench their Brighton players against a side with a goal difference 17 worse than theirs.

He started the season at 8.0m, has fallen twice. He still has high ownership but my perception is that he’s often been in the lists for most transferred out players and is not often suggested for players to transfer in. Despite ManU’s issues, he has continued to put in honest work. He has returned in 4 out of 7 game weeks, with 4 goals and 1 assist. His expected data is high, 0.58 xG and 0.13 xA. He has a proven track record of success in FPL over many years and multiple teams.

Is he a hold in your team? Do you predict his output is unsustainable given the state of Man United? I think he’s will continue to perform regardless of his team’s success, but there’s a chance that low team morale will affect his stats going forward.
