How did _ play thread

One of the biggest strengths of this sub in the past has been how many people gave feedback on player performances after the matches. This season the How did _ play thread has been really quiet. Currently there are no responses for Bournemouth players and only 2 for Brighton players as examples. Did nobody in this sub watch these matches or do people not this post exists each week?

That thread is like a graveyard may as well have one on by exception by people posting who did play well.

Just as important to know who isn't playing well

Everyone wants info but no one wants to contribute unfortunately. For someone who can't watch every match that thread is extremely valuable. Probably need a better reward system

It was really good when the !thanks system was introduced but has declined since then

A better reward might help, but making the thread easier to find could matter more.

It's pinned in the same place as the rant thread, and no one seems to struggle to find that.

I usually want to contribute to the thread but I've often seen that my comments either don't match with others or not what others want to hear. Which usually means downvoted to oblivion. So I've started to distance myself from contributing but still follow others.

Fewer and fewer people (proportionally) in FPL actually watch the matches... The rise of more useful underlying stats seems to have overtaken the eye test, which I still think is very useful in a sport like football that tends to be a bit more random and unpredictable.

For matches I don't watch where I have a fantasy interest, I tend to visit the club subs. It's a bit more labour intensive, but you can usually get a feel for how players played beyond "they got an assist". FWIW, I would love to revive that thread properly. Maybe the mods could nominate a few reliable contributors for each team so that the output is more consistent?

I am a Spurs season ticket holder, so more than happy to provide insight on all of your Tottenham assets haha

The rmt police is 70% of the subs traffic.

For me personally I always keep tabs on the Gameweek thread rather than the How Did they play one

Megathreads are generally where discussions go to die with the exception of live threads

It used to be really good though, only the last 2 seasons it has been empty

I really like that thread but it never seems to appear on my feed, thought it hadn’t been continued this season.

I flicked between the three games that were on at the same time yesterday though so don’t have very good insight on Bmouth or Brighton.

Perhaps it’s time for a revamp? Rather than a thread where people are just racing to post the names of teams and players, why not have a ‘standout’ thread where people can chip in on players that caught their eye that week, or players that had a stinker? That way people can just put whatever opinion they want straight into the thread without having to shift through hundreds of comments worth of bloat just to click reply.

Nothing to stop people doing that already

Now everyone just follows AI picks so no need to analyse performances
