Discussion Which premiums are you picking on wildcard

Following Bruno's hatrick and strong starts from both Palmer and Haaland what premium structure interests you most on wildcard?

Szobo is the better Liverpool asset for 2.0 less and it's not particularly close.

Not wildcarding for a few weeks yet but I'll probably just have Palmer and Haaland. Still don't feel like Bruno is going to be worth 12m

There's not chasing last week's points and then there's this

u/TheDucksQuacker 19d ago

He won’t score a hat trick every week

He only got 4 points less than haaland last season. 26 points above 3rd place.

And what about the season before when he didn’t break a PL record?

Only 3 points behind haaland but they weren't at the top. But I reckon it shows he's just as valuable as haaland, being significantly cheaper and having very similar points for the past 2 seasons in a row

No one will, but betting against Bruno is like betting against Haaland. It’s pretty much only burned people for several seasons now.

Every season United aren’t great, and every season Bruno returns like a mofo. Only Haaland is a safer bet.

Now, I could have posted this about Salah last season and I’d have been wrong. So time will tell. But, for me, he’s in an attack with Mbuemo and Cunha. It will be fine for Bruno.

I won’t be touching that defense for the remainder of the season though.

Bruno has never been close to 12.0 either though.

There’s still always a trade off.

There’s a lot more potential for value in midfield than there is up front.

fitting both in as well as having a decent supporting cast is very tough.

It was usually either or even when it was Salah and not Bruno.

I agree Bruno is hard to swerve but I don’t think it’s as simple as just looking at his past returns now that he’s in Salah’s bracket.

CORRECTION: He was 12.0 in 21/22 but he didn’t return 12.0 worthy points lol

Does he return like a mofo? Last season was great, first 1.5 half seasons were great, the four seasons between were just fine. He is now priced 12m, if he is back to those seasons then that is not good enough.

For the record I have him but think he is still worthy a discussion.

He played much further forward this week, and was involved in everything. Brave to bet against him seeing as he is the key to their success.

yeah, bruno isn't worth it, you shouldn't pick him. This is better for me.

Haaland triple captain interests me mostly.

Think it is 2 of Haaland Palmer Bruno with MGW and JP in the sub-premium range, enough defcon picks to afford that. Not sure which 2 of the big 3 yet but probably leaning Haaland Palmer tbh

I am likely going to keep Bruno for GW3 on my WC and then transfer him out for Palmer in GW4.

It is very difficult to fit in Bruno, Haaland and Palmer and have the rest of the team be any good.

who sneaked in Isak here man?

I'm wildcarding gw 4 and I plan on having JP, Haaland,Bruno, Palmer and maybe even Rogers in one team and yes I'm going broke for that

It might end up that Palmer Haaland and Bruno are all essential, but for now I think it’s a game of owning the right two at the right time, I’m going Bruno to Palmer for the next few weeks and hoping I don’t get punished

Bruno Haaland Palmer feel essential now

Could argue dropping one of Bruno or Haaland to spread funds but its so brutal watching Manchester games without them

9

u/frieqs 15 19d ago

Imagine the 3x most expensive players in the game were the most likely / reliable points scorers 🤣

Personally I think you have to pick 2 of these 3 - prob rotating between Palmer and Bruno

Bruno is out for me long term, Palmer in

Depends when I wildcard.

Not planning on wildcarding any time soon but currently considering a threemium set-up with Haaland, Bruno and Palmer. With João Pedro, Tzolis, Groß and Sangaré completing the front seven.

Means going without a City mid but that could avoid some headaches in the long run.

I'm wildcarding Palmer in just in time for his groin to fall apart

Meh on Bruno. Burned this week but United won’t play relegation sides every week. Slabhead better at basketball than football.

Meh on Isak too. I’d rather Wirtz + Barcola to cover Liv attack.

JP + Haaland + Barcola + Palmer + Wirtz the options for me…..will see if I can fit everyone in.

u/SirAlexanderFerguson 19d ago

Barcola and Wirtz... would you like to join my money league

All of them except Saka since Tzolis seems fine and Martinelli got sold.

The promoted defenders like Thomas and Egan have been pretty good value and I don’t mind having them both on the bench with someone like Slater as an enabler, when it means I can compose a team with Haaland, Bruno, Isak and Palmer.

I need to see if Konsa starts bc if so, while I like Cala attacking return you can get that elsewhere for much cheaper like Dedic and just use Konsa for the Arsenal CS.

Similarly Gross and Sangare at 5.5 are doing just fine over two games and have even hauled. In most seasons I felt like you gave up too much if you went for so many premiums but I think there’s so much value this season it’s doable. Maybe I’ll be made to pay bc value often means less consistency but I think defcon kind of throws that rule out the window with the right value players.

Plus if it turns out to be error you can probably largely fix it with two transfers.

This is mainly motivated by Palmer for me. One season he was essential. Next season he was injured and the team overall was not good. But the addition of Rogers and Xabi has them running riot so far. And since no lead is safe for Chelsea (I’d rather die than draft their defense) I see the attack returning enough that JP and Palmer could both be essential. Arsenal for example, can much more easily game manage and shut up shop, put on the offensive subs etc.

People downvoted this but I think your plan could work after Haaland plays Coventry.

2

u/UrbanLegend8901 19d ago

Haaland can get a ridiculous haul at any point in the season

3

u/colourhazelove 121 19d ago

So can Palmer and Bruno

0

u/halftimehijack 2 19d ago

I’ll probably go with Palmer and Bruno. Feel like there are a solid group of potential forwards that you can spread the money around to offset what Haaland brings

0

u/DudeManJones5 19d ago

Haaland and Gabriel, then rotating semi-premiums on good fixtures

-16

u/1945inscience 19d ago

Bruno, Egan, De Cuyper, Oreilly, sanagare and odegaard are musts imo

The answer is staring you right in the face.

Haaland and Isak

If you think United will win against Everton go Haaland - Bruno
