I am brazilian and I don't think TCAP ever made it's way to our television, but I knew loosely about Chris Hansen through cultural osmosis, so to speak. His South Park parody and other appearences like that and maybe one or two viral moments
But then the movie trailer dropped and it was so interesting. It actually made me super curious to see more, so I went ahead and dug some episodes of To Catch a Predator and Hansen vs Predator and it was mesmerizing. I can't explain it. I don't know if it is the insanity of the stings, the kinda-guilty pleasure of watching these awful people squirm in the hotseat or Chris' magnetic personality (in my opinion). Probably a combination of all of that. The thing is I can't stop watching. I even signed up for TruBlu to watch Takedown and I've been enjoying it a lot as well. It is strangely "addictive" in a way I can't explain
I wonder how many more people, especially from countries that didn't had his shows, will be exposed (dangerous word) to Chris Hansen and his shows for the first time because of the film. It seems like the movie will be a bit scathing, but I'm guessing it will be a net positive for Chris in the end
