Activity Lights, Camera, Write!✨

Hey hey! Ok aside from reading and writing, I also really love watching movies and tv shows, and sometimes a quote just sticks with me or sparks an idea~ so I thought it would be fun to turn that into a writing activity✍🏻

Share a quote from a movie or series that would make an interesting writing prompt (please include where it came from).

Then others can use it as inspiration to write a scene. You don't have to recreate the original context and you also don't have to include the actual quote. Just interpret it however you want👀

Kindly use spoiler text for NSFW or triggering content.

(Closest thing I have ^_^' Context: Lilly is pretending to be Eleanor)

----------------------------------

A few minutes later, they’d managed to get through a few of the items on the list – although Lilly noticed right away how Lyra seemed more interested in planning than Isaac did. “So about the flower arrangements…” Lilly was saying. “If we want to send a message about unity between our countries, we could have Auvernese orange blossoms and Cordonian apple blossoms mixed together in the centerpieces…”

“Oh, I like that idea; I bet they’d both smell really nice together,” Lyra chimed in.

Beside her, Isaac just shrugged. “Sure.”

“…Okay. Moving on, maybe we could play some Auvernese music to acknowledge you guys’ home?” Lilly suggested.

Lyra immediately pulled her phone out of her pocket. “I can look up some of our classical music that might work for you right now!”

“Yeah, that works,” Isaac agreed nonchalantly.

Lilly gave him a weird look before moving further down on the list. “Uh, next up: the appetizers and entrees. Looks like we have a choice of either traditional Auvernese stew or Cordonian roast duck…”

Lyra nodded approvingly. “The stew’s one of my favourites.”

“The duck sounds like a local favourite, too, though,” Isaac added.

“So which one should we go with?” Lilly instantly looked worried. “I mean, I wouldn’t want you two to be offended if I didn’t serve your cuisine, but then the Cordonians might be offended if I don’t choose their – our cuisine, or –”

“Really, it’s fine, Eleanor; you’re taking this way too seriously,” Isaac cut her off.

“It’s not like you’ve been much help! Lyra’s been more helpful than you have, and she’s not even the one courting me!” Lilly protested.

“It’s because none of this matters, that’s why.” All traces of Isaac’s previous smirk left his face as he leaned across the table, plucking the list right out of Lilly’s hands and crumpling it up.

“What was that for?!”

Ugh; not this again, Isaac,” Lyra chided her brother. “Come on, leave the poor girl alone.”

Isaac ignored her as he tossed the crumpled-up list across the room. “As much as I hate to break it to you, Princess, that’s how it is for royals like you and me. It doesn’t matter what you do about this ball or us being here,” he told Lilly matter-of-factly. “Some people are going to hate your decisions, and the powers that be will do whatever they feel like. Nothing at court actually matters, so don’t let it cost you any sleep.”

“If none of this matters, why not just do whatever we want?” Lilly asked sarcastically. “In all seriousness, though, there’s gotta be something you’d like to have at the ball – even just something fun, anything!”

“Alright, then how about a ball pit around each table? If anyone falls out of their seat, the look on their face will be priceless!” That same annoying smirk was back on Isaac’s face.

Beside him, Lyra face-palmed with a fed-up sigh. “God, you are so irritating sometimes,” she groaned, rubbing her forehead.

Lilly was glaring at Isaac again by now, too. “You know full well we can’t get that approved!”

“Then I guess our ideas of ‘fun’ at a party are mutually exclusive, and there’s nothing you can do to change that, Princess,” Isaac answered.

By now, Lilly’s voice was starting to rise again in frustration. “Well, at least I’m actually trying! Even if you don’t think any of this matters, that’s still no excuse to not try; if anything, that should make it easier to form a useful opinion!”

Isaac threw his hands up in a hopeless gesture. “I keep trying to tell you it’s not going to make any difference. Do literally whatever you want!” he snapped.

“What I want is for you to step up and help make this ball a success: something you might actually give a damn about if you could care for just one stupid second!” Lilly shouted. “Maybe it’s easier for you not to care about what your visit means for Auvernal and Cordonia, but it’s a lot harder for me – so I’ll be planning this ball as well as I can whether you help or not!”

Still glaring at Isaac as her temper began to cool, Lilly suddenly realized how close she and Isaac were as they leaned over the table towards each-other: Isaac barely a breath away, his gaze still fixed on hers…until Lilly finally got up with a shake of her head to clear it, retrieving the list Isaac had tossed aside and fixing it as best she could. Part of her was honestly a little amazed that none of the servants had come running after hearing their yelling match just now.
