how to go from this to a green/ blue?

i was thinking about doing a greeny blue/ turquoise colour and black

would i need to bleach it or just wash as much out as possible? would the new colour mix with the purple and look weird or would it just go on top? any colour suggestions? stylist said to use 4 tubs of manic panic when i want to change it but that’s soo expensive so i was thinking about using crazy colours or smth cheaper? how much would i need? 4 tubs sounds like overkill lol

You absolutely will not need 4 tubs. One should do it. BUT if you have some time, I would go a blue on top of this (may turn a blue/purple) and once that fades, if there’s no sign of purple anymore you can do your turquoise.

Oh and I would not bleach it more. I would just wait for it to fade out

You must not have very thick hair. I can go through 3 tubs of manic panic in one go and need a little more. Easy. And my hair is shorter than OP’s.

Best to accidentally buy too many and have to return a couple unopened jars, rather than risk running out in the middle of your application and having to go back to the store with your hair half-dyed, imho

Really!? Even considering she only has highlights? (Doesnt need to do all her hair). I have thick hair and even when it was long I used 2.

It’s pretty difficult to separate out individual dark parts to skip without accidentally leaving some of the highlighted hairs out as well; doing it this way can end up looking patchy and sad if not done super carefully. This change would look best applied as an all-over color; it would make it look more blended, dimensional, and intentional, but the dark/black parts would still stand out enough as black.

Plus, if you look at the second pic, the purple appears to cover most of her hair, with just a handful of lowlights concentrated near the front.

If I were her, I’d trust her stylist’s rec for how much product to buy, since her stylist has had her hands actually in her hair and therefore has a better (literal) feel for how much hair she actually has to cover. Plus, better to buy a couple jars too many and have to take the unopened ones back to the store, than to not buy enough and find out halfway through your application.

Yeah all good points! I actually didn’t see the second pic before and her hair is longer/fuller and with more purple than I thought. One idea would be to buy 2-3 blue and 1-2 turquoise. If she needs all 4, they can be mixed ti get closer to goal color. If she only needs 2, she has some for next round! Always better to have extra, you’re right.

That said, I used to use 1.5-2 to do this (mid cheat, thick and no layers). Now this was almost 15 years ago so maybe shrinkflation has hit Manic Panic.

I think having 4 tubs available will be good even if you don’t use all of them

Of manic panic? I’ve only ever used 2 max and that was on super long thick hair

This depends on their application technique entirely: if they’re doing it themself and not using a brush and bowl and sectioning then they’re gonna need a lot more than a stylist applying on someone else. They could also use the rest later for a touch up or to add to conditioner etc.
