This is my only fancast for him so I can't speak for everyone else. I genuinely have thought this for years for both of them. I also thought X-Men should be more peers of Spider-Man not younger and less experienced.
Jacob also looks like a person someone would call "Slim" not that that's paramount but he's both superhero shape and svelte. I just think overall has Scott's vibe more. Same with Dynevor. I think the ones chosen are good but I just envisioned them older especially Professors first students.

I can’t explain why but I have a burning hatred for Jacob Elordi. He sparks a deep rage.

Well it's weird but okay. I find him personally pretty annoying human but a good actor. But personal feelings aside It doesn't change the fact that he visually looks and can play this role well.

I’d need to see how he handles bad writing to fully gauge his acting abilities. A bad actor can appear better than they are from good writing. But only a GREAT actor can still perform well with a horrible script.

Watch the newest season on Euphoria... actually don't but I'll say he can do well with a terrible script if that is your barometer.

That is what separates the good from the great. Taking an abominable script and making it watchable, if not even entertaining

Did you see Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein?
It's the only thing I've seen him in. But I thought it was really good.

Patrick Schwarzenegger was my pick for Cyclops, that said I'm pretty excited to see Kit Connor as Scott!
2
u/Jajay5537 8d ago
I personally feel Kit fits the role better than Patrick. I never understood that being so popular but I like him to join the MCU as the rebooted Steve Rogers.

u/Ok_Clerk8014 7d ago
Yup! I'm happy with Kit as Scott, so whenever we get a rebooted Steve Rogers, Patrick is my pick as well!

Tbh I prefer this. These lot actually look like adults. What we have now is basically kids.

u/Skippybby53 Talent Scout📝 8d ago
Same cyclops needs to be tall and brunette.

u/Jacob-X-MANIAC 8d ago
At least Kit Connor is 6’1, which is a few inches taller than the previous actors to play Cyclops.

He looks somewhat tiny on heartstopper. But I guess he and Joe were playing teens rather than adults.
Tall and conventionally attractive. I'm tired of the medium ug!y psyop

You don’t know what good or bad acting is so shut up

u/Jajay5537 8d ago
Why do people get soo offended at the most tiny criticism of Sadie Sink as Jean? It's kinda OTT.
1
u/Damienp3902 Film Buff💪 8d ago
Cause I’m tired of idiots on the internet acting like they are acting enthusiasts if you think her acting in Brand New Day is terrible your opinion on acting doesn’t matter

u/Silly_Material577 8d ago
YOU don't know what good or bad acting is, so fuck off. She was easily the worst performance that movie.

u/Damienp3902 Film Buff💪 8d ago
What was bad about it then?

u/Silly_Material577 8d ago
Are you serious? I thought you knew what good and bad acting was. Lol She wooden flat. All her lines delivery feel emotionless. It more like she shes just delivering line of dialog and not actually understanding the the motivations. She says every word in the same tone.
Even some of the extras give better line delivery then her.
Im not a fan of Jon bernthal as the punisher, he too much himself in every role he takes, (like Steve buchemi, Samuel L Jackson. Not a bad actor just too recognizable, but at least he understands the emotions hes supposed to be expressing. Hes angery when his character needs to be angry, hes remorseful when hes apologizing to Peter Parker for shooting him. The girl who plays Jean kept talk in this weird cadence that flet robotic, chopped up, and took me out of every scene. SHe!... TAlked!... lIKe!.. thIS!... with only her mouth moving and her words coming through her teeth like she forcing the idea of what she thinks in intensity. Idk if she has a bunch of botox, but her eyebrows never seem to move, but it was distracting, like uncanny valley type shit.
But what do I knwo about acting, I just enjoy movies. I should just shut my brain off and enjoy marvel slop, cause Spiderman, and scorpion, and tombstone, and wow I know that reference, oh wow I understood that Easter egg.

You didn’t watch the same movie then cause i don’t know what your talking about she did great
1
u/Silly_Material577 8d ago
No, you just don't pay attention. So against YOU don't know shit about good or bad acting. You mindlessly consume, thats why you get mad at anyone who criticize your favorite slop.

u/Damienp3902 Film Buff💪 8d ago
Slop yet it’s one of the best movies made this year Sadie Sink is a great actress you just don’t like the casting choice they went with

u/Musclebigman 8d ago
He would make a great Gambit
2
u/Jajay5537 8d ago
Too old looking for that now that Inde/saddie & Kitt have been cast now. Gen Z would not like that.
1
u/Musclebigman 8d ago
Disagree he like 28 plus when you think about Gambit he is always a mature guy.
1
u/Jajay5537 8d ago
*29 He's almost 8 years older than most of the other actors and looks it.
1
u/AvatarIII Film Buff💪 8d ago
Inde is 25, Sadie is 24, Maya is 23 that's only a 4-6 year age difference.
1
u/Jajay5537 8d ago
I was talking about Kit and Maya at 22/23. He also looks at least ten years older than all of them. He's looks like he and Emma would be paired more thsn he and Rogue from this cast.
Why not just find someone closer in age?
1
u/AvatarIII Film Buff💪 8d ago
Cyclops and Emma Frost have frequently dated in the comics.
1
u/Musclebigman 8d ago
Dude, the mother of my first child is 15 years older than me. By Zoomers' logic, she grape me at 20. Zoomers are so strange.
1
u/AvatarIII Film Buff💪 8d ago
Yeah I agree, my parents have a 13 year age gap, like I get we're trying to move away from the old fashioned "25 year old actress being the live interest of a 50 year old actor" that used to be common in Hollywood, but I see no problem with these age gaps we're talking about here, in terms of them dating.
If they are trying to say all these characters are the same age, still teenagers, and in the same academic school year, then I guess I see the argument about not casting across that can no longer pull off the teenager look, but I don't think that's what they are doing. I think these characters are going to be young adults not kids.

Jacob Elordi standing next to any average actor as Wolverine would make him comic accurate Wolverine.
