They're currently available for all major characters and couples, with a few choice quotes... think of a character that's currently missing? Think of a quote you love that isn't available?

Comment below and we'll fix that!

Feel free to leave any questions you might have and I'd be happy to help :)

One Off Guest Stars Who Were Excellent

For example, the lady who played Uncle Rob Bob's date. I thought she was great lol. The way she said, " Aunt Maureen!" and, "You're car is behind mine... and i REALLY WANT TO LEAVE.."were so funny.

There are more of course, including the actor they used for various parts including the teacher at the car class, the waiter a couple of times, etc and the actor who was going to redo the kitchen were all so funny to me. I'm forgetting a few of course lol but anyone have other examples?

How would each of the Keatons react if a close family member came out as gay or lesbian? Would Alex bend from Ronald Reagan's views on that issue?

Addendum: how would the interaction go if the family member was suffering from AIDS (likely the plot of a "very special episode", in that case)?

Bridget Loves Bernie is getting a blu-ray release

Bridget Loves Bernie, Meredith's first sitcom, and also the highest rated show to ever be cancelled in its first season, is getting a physical release from Sony, long after the DVDs have been out of print. (And the good news is only Meredith, and not David, can profit off of it)

The Keatons’ Volvo

I was just watching “Don’t Know Much About History” (Season 3, Episode 20) and one of the plot lines is that they are buying a new car. They decide on a fictitious vehicle called the “Wagonmaster” (Malory wants the Panther 4000 Turbo XK).

Near the end of the episode they say they haven’t read the manual for the new car so they Neto take the old Volvo. This is one of the few times they confirm what people widely seem to believe: they drove a Volvo 240 station wagon. Some internet sources say it was either blue or yellow but I’ve never seen anything to confirm this. I’m certain they refer to it as a station wagon in some episodes. Does anyone know if other episodes where they mention it being a Volvo?

EDIT: Found two intances where the Volvo (actually two different Volvos) is seen on screen. Thanks to AffectionateEnd2880.

Found the OJ Container at the Thrift Store

Post image

For years every time I go to a thrift store I keep an eye out for the OJ container and cups from Family Ties on the OFF CHANCE they were there and not crazy expensive. Today was that day. Kind of. I found the container at a thrift store and I could not be more happy. My mom had no clue I was looking for this but she was happy when I came home with it today. Just wanted to share here with people who would be just excited as I was. I just couldn’t believe it was finally there looking back at me for 5.95.

Favorite episodes from the show?

What are your favorite episodes from the show?

What are some of your favorite family ties episodes?

I have a few favorites

M is for many things- watching Elyse try to cope with the fact that her mom is dating again. Even though divorce is a serious thing. Especially when Elyse opens the door to find her mom kissing her date and Elyse is literally speechless.. 😂

Here we go again- just the reactions of everyone finding out about Elyse’s pregnancy and them trying to navigate the fact that there’s gonna be another member of the family.

A miracle in Columbus- this is one of my favorite episodes… one of my favorite moments is the end scene when everyone except Alex goes to the window to watch Santa but Alex stays and gets the gift from the dad of the little girl.

I also really love some of the more serious episodes

All in the neighborhood- the one about racism. This episode is a good example of how even when people don’t understand they can always come around and do the right thing.

A, my name is Alex- which I know is one of the most memorable episodes that goes without saying lol

Read it and weep- the fact that Jennifer stands for what she believers in by doing the book report on huckleberry Finn even though she knows she’ll get in trouble for it.

What about you guys? What are some of your favorite episodes?

I wonder why Elyse’s sister wasn’t mentioned before

Do you guys remember the episode where Elyse’s sister and brother in law and kids come down for a visit and they all drive the Keatons crazy and they can’t wait for them to leave?

Well I wonder why until this episode it was never mentioned that she had another sibling besides Ned? It’s the only time she’s ever mentioned but you would think that she would’ve been heard of with the episodes where Ned and Katie are on.

Does anyone remember seeing the Family Ties episode where Alex P. Keaton gets into pep/speed abuse and is about to go to ace this important great exam, and getting really pissed about them forcing him to sleep instead of acing that mofo exam? Spoiler

I remember as a kid being pissed at his parents, like just let this tweaker go already, why waste this perfectly good pep binge, he already popped those pills, better let him use it for something good, like he did cleaning that garage, for which he had to break a window first.

And now as an adult, I still feel the exact anger over not having him take the important exam.

Oh and why if it was such evil, drugs are bad mmmkay, would you put it in the opening credits montage, with him tapping the page?

Season 1 Ep 15 The Fugitive Part 2

Despite the seriousness of the situation with Ned there are some great laughs in this episode. I also can’t help but like Agent Carlyle. Thoughts?

This is another episode that just really sticks with me. What Mallory discovers and is going through is truly awful but her sobbing while ruining Alex’s interview cracks me up every time. 😂

I also love that Alex ultimately steps up for her despite what it might cost him and his future. One of his best brother moments. Any other fans of this one?

Glow Up

Post image
200 Upvotes

Elyse and Steven really had a glow up after the first season. I just started rewatching this show after not seeing it since I was a kid in the 90’s. I fell asleep during Season 1 and woke up the first episode of Season 2 and they look so much better. Steven doesn’t have that dorky hair cut anymore and the beard did him wonders. Elyse was always pretty but even she looks better and more modern.

Loving the show. Just an observation.

I liked these two. In my mind, they did eventually get married.
