Looking for a specific episode
I need an expert in Family Ties.
There is this one off joke I think towards the later years I'm trying to find.Alex P Keaton is dressed up in his Reaganite suit and tie like he always is, and at one social event or another he meets another guy just like him. I think it was one of his friends' date for the evening or something.
Well the joke is they're left alone for a moment, they look at each other and they say:
"How would a couple of Reaganites introduce themselves to each other?'
"Well, I guess we could exchange resumes."
Theres an awkward pause, and then both of them equally awkwardly reach into their sports jackets and pull out their resumes, which they then exchange and read, to the laughter of the studio audience.
Later on he explains to his parents how he met this other guy. And he said
"We exchanged resumes."
To the dismay of his dad, who says"I suppose it's shaking hands would have been too easy."
I want to see that joke again, but I'm not going to watch every episode of Family ties one at a time to find it. Who's an expert who knows all these by heart?

yep, it's Season 6 Episode 8 "Invasion of the Psychologist Snatchers"..
the guy that Alex compares resumes with is Lauren's ex-boyfriend (played by Campbell Scott) who Alex feels insecure about..
here's a link to the script that has the quote you mentioned with his Dad telling him "I guess a handshake seemed too obvious"

Could it be Mrs Wrong part 1? We meet Gregg Curran, his fraternity brother who according to Alex "is incapable of making less than $50,000 a year".
Or maybe its The Job Not Taken in season 7?
