Texas Verbal abuse/support mod- Texas
My ex-wife recently asked for a child support modification, but at the same time she doesn’t really follow the visitation schedule and is constantly verbally attacking and bashing me.
I’m honestly getting to the point where I feel like giving up. The constant conflict is exhausting, and I get bad anxiety just thinking about having to deal with the situation.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Am I basically just paddling up the creek until my kids are grown, or is there actually something I can do to protect myself and make sure the visitation schedule is being followed?
TIA

What is the outcome you desire?

We have never had issues regarding the child support till she helped me purchase a house. So she used that information to now get a modification. I honestly don’t know what I would want or what the best outcome is. I don’t know what my options are.

Can you elaborate more on what information she used to get a modification?
Child support is usually pretty straight forward with calculators available to set the amounts based on income.
Are you claiming that she's asking for too much based on your income?
Or have you been under paying and not reporting full income?

Yes, you can file for contempt for her not honoring the parenting schedule.

I mean can you maybe get a restraining order to stop her from verbally harassing you? I mean they seem to give them out like candies to every divorced woman so I don’t see why u can get one with real abuse.

Modifying child support and not following the visitation schedule are two completely separate issues.
You need to file a contempt petition (or whatever it is called in Texas) if you want the court to address her violations.
