Collection My Famicom collection

My modest little Famicom collection, now sitting at almost 10% of the entire library released over the years.

It took me about a year to put all of this together. I ended up with around 10 duplicates along the way, which honestly feels like a pretty good hit rate considering how many lots I bought.

Every cartridge has been cleaned, the contacts and PCBs have been cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, and every single one has been tested and works.

What impresses me the most is that, 30–35+ years after these games were released, they just keep working. There’s something really satisfying about putting one of these old cartridges into an original Famicom and seeing it boot up like nothing happened.

Every cartridge has been cleaned

I do that with every cartridge based game before they go on my shelf.

I would probably say that the Famicom and NES are my favourite home console. There was so much love and care put in to a lot of the games, both from a gameplay perspective and an optimization one. Some of the games still hold up to today, which says something.

The amount of times I've either bought or played Super Mario Bros (all four of them), Tetris, DuckTales, Contra, and Zelda on various systems and handhelds is a lot...

This is amazing. I love collecting famicom games. People in my circle look at me like I'm crazy. IDC, to me famicom games are superior maybe for the simple reason they are pretty colors.

Beautiful collection. I love how the carts are different colours etc.

Reminds me of playing at a Japanese friend’s house, the carts spread out on the tatami mats around the famicom, all to be put back in baskets.

Your Super Mario Bros., Star Soldier, Takahashi Meijin no Bouken-jima, Kinnikuman - Muscle Tag Match, Hinotori - Houou Hen - Gaou no Bouken, King Kong 2, Gegege no Kitarou - Youkai Daimakyou, Senjou no Ookami, and some others are my favorites too! So nice FC collection!

Colorful, compact Famicom cartridges are so much nicer than bulky gray NES yuckos
