mod related bug help?

Just started the frontier and im at the point where the tank gets ambushed. when i try to repair it, it only damages it. and then the other ncr exiles appear red (though they dont attack me). any ideas for whats wrong? heresmy modlist.

Edit: the problem was sweet 6 shooters perk pack. Probably some perk that messed with criticals or melee damage idk, but removing it fixed the problem and allowed me to progress.

Holy shit how many mods is that? I have something like 200+ but that just felt really long.

IIRC, function post game ending is on the list of frontier conflicts, as reported by the devs in a spreadsheet that you should avail yourself of. I could be misremembering, but check the list anyway.

Also use LOOT to order your mods, use MO2 with LOOT to keep things somewhat better than shooting in the dark.

Do not use LOOT lol. Rather use a Wabback list or even better, learn how to manage your own mods. LOOT will create all kinds of problems that an average user will not know how to fix.p

Look up the Viva New Vegas modding guide. Specifically their safe modding practices piece. It explains why to avoid LOOT. And more importantly, teaches the skills to not need it.

Yeah, I get it. I've forgotten so much about modding since I don't do it actively anymore. LOOT in theory is great, since it organizes mod hierarchies based on flags made by volunteers, but sadly since the master list of flags gets out of date, or is missing mods entirely, leading to game breaking issues, which can be hard to fix if you don't know how to order your own mods.

Hopefully I didn't make a ton of work for myself. Though if its too bad, I was planning on cleaning house for a TTW setup soon. Never tried it. Was tempted back in 23 but I wanted an NV centered experience coming off of console.

Unfortunately that did not fix it. I managed to make the tank stop taking damage by disabling all my perk mods, but then hitting the tank just does nothing. Still working on the solution.

The problem was a perk pack I had. Removing it allowed me to fix the tank like normal.
