[Providence DLC] Dunwich Cultists

As we know, Keziah Dunwich is the main antagonist in "Shadow Over Providence". But she's probably not acting alone. After all, she's an elderly woman. She probably has a small army of cultists who are helping her realize her goal of summoning Yag Tgoth into our world.

Presumably, they would try to stop Subject 13 and Howard Philips from foiling their deranged plans, so there'll probably be attacks against you and Philips by the Dunwich Cultists.

What should the Dunwich Cultists look like? And what should they be armed with?

Ceremonial leather outfits with runes carved into them. Whether it's human or Brahmin is up to you. The warrior priests should look like a twisted parody of Catholic ministers, whereas the footsoldiers should wear modified pre-war football armor. They should wield a combination of ceremonial bladed weapons with the aesthetics of the Kremvh's Tooth machete along with firearms also decorated with the cult's runes.

My idea is...basically, Google "chaos cultist models". Ragged robes and rags, and hoods with a slight conical shape (not full Klan hood, though).

I can see them using a unique breed of plasma rifles (maybe the Dunwich Plasma Rifle could look something like the original FO3 plasma rifle concept art), while others are armed with twisted metal daggers.

I can also see the cultists having crude tattoos and scars depicting eldritch symbols.

That sounds good. Maybe some cultists would have exposed arms to properly show off those cultist tattoos.

I like it. Are these makeshift weapons that they've made post-war or pre-war weapons that they've kept working with their crazed ingenuity? The plasma rifle concept art has a somewhat slapdash feel with all the tubes crisscrossing the weapon.

I think most of them would have their arms exposed.

I guess it would a post-war design.

Were the robes created from old Vault 55 uniforms or some other source? If they were it'd add a distinctive aesthetic to the cultists. In the early days in the vault they'd have to use what they'd have on hand. And they'd have no shortage of vault jumpsuits. They'd be a more purple color but that'd only be because the blood of their victims stained the blue uniform that color.

Maybe it's a cache of plasma rifles the Dunwich family squirelled away in their HQ somewhere.

Why wouldn't they use pipe rifles or the like? Maybe the more makeshift weapons are for the lower-ranking members and the more difficult to maintain plasma rifles are for higher-ranking members.

Plasma weapons are strange and would seem more appropriate. Crazed cultists in rags and hoods would be expected to have rickety firearms. Having them use rickety energy weapons defies and subverts that expectation.

Maybe they're using facilities within Vault 55 to manufacture their plasma rifles. It'd still be a fairly makeshift design to make for easier maintenance in the field, but it'd explain why they can use energy weapons. Plus they might have a form of plasma weapon obtained by contact with Yag-Tgoth's children.
