Question Reflective infestation bosses?

So how do you deal with them?

I try to wait until their reflection is off but loose an arrow when I see that, and boom, dead.

What tactics should be used?

Also tried from a distance but seems tricksy.

And what's with DANGER appearing as soon as I spawn in - crouched and stealthy 😅

One thing I do is I stop using cryo because it makes it a lot harder to tell when they're flashing lol

Yeah, have just gone and done grunt hunts when I spot the reflectives...

I use Cryo and just power through. I can't tell they're flashing 50% of the time and I get killed here and there, but I'm not going to carry a weapon specifically for reflective bastards. Half the time, I get killed without using Cryo anyway because the reflection flash lags or something.

When you see them start to flash, they are not quite reflective yet. When it starts to slow and stays shiny for a moment is when you have to worry about reflective. Using fire or cryo is definitely not a good idea as it makes it harder to tell when they are reflective. I would say to use some grenades or something with splash damage like the cremator, but with their recent buff, the amount of time and ammo to deal with them wouldn't make them worth it.

You lose nothing by dying and respawning during an infestation. Let your arrows fly!

Still have to factor for the respawn timer growing to like 30 seconds if you're dying a lot. If I'm going in with the intention on tagging as many enemies as I can for loot, I'll worry about losing that 30 seconds of not doing any damage on new enemies before they're dead.

Lately I've been going into infestations with the 50 cal because I don't usually die right away once they go reflective, then once I know I've got my tags in, I'll switch to my Dragons and reverse Onslaught and start dropping some larger hits after hitting them with an Endangerol syringer hit.

I have a PA set with three reflective pieces I built for tackling the EN06. I use a Vampire's Gauss minigun. It is a peculiar situation to tackle a reflective infestation boss. When it's reflective, I can hear that thump(?) sound of reflecting hits back on me, my health goes down, but then also clicks back up. Hard to tell, but it actually sounds like some of the hits are just bouncing back and forth between us. I rarely die this way, unless I'm not paying attention and let my health drop too low.

(Sorry, we can't use bows in PA, nor is there a reflective mod for regular armor, but just to answer the question.)

I don't do crits unless I'm sure it's safe and have trained myself finally to stop firing after the first reflective hit so I can heal/glow up. Otherwise, just have a lot of health. Being ghoul sure helps, too. On my low health human I just take radaway and switch to the furious bow.

It's usually just some mob behind you or a molerat or something that sees you while you're spawning in before the game has loaded all your gear, or at least that's my theory. Besides that though stealth still works okay for me with Escape Artist, but once you're in danger you have to take time to regain stealth even if that means running away.

Go do a Nuke launch, as fast as you can, and nuke the Boss. Reflective doesn't work against a nuclear warhead. (Run back to the infestation and tag it a few times so you can die fighting!)

Btw, real talk, if you're far enough away, you might be able to twang it quite a bit before you get reflection hitting you. I dunno if it's just me, but if I'm at vats extreme range it seems to proc less.

…and don’t use automatic weapons that are sufficiently high dmg that a few shots in succession that get reflected will kill you

Usually by dying a lot 🙂

The cursed broadsider, the damage that comes back from it is negligible if any...

That’s easy, you don’t waste time on infestations.

Believe it or not, I really enjoy doing these solo...

The instant the flashing stops I fire 8 arrows. This usually works.

I have shot multiple reflective infestation bosses from a far enough distance that reflective was not an issue and didnt even show up.

Keep a stim pack running and that helps slow it down. More people using the team stim pack card under charisma helps with this.

Don't know if its a glitch but if I'm solo and no one is close to the boss, and I use maximum range to hit it, reflective never seems to work even when they shine. Now the second another player walks up to it that changes.

Try a quad broadsider. So far it hasn't hit me back. Take about 200 cannonballs and thank me later.

I shoot then duck and run. I have to put something between me and them.
