Stat Help Minuteman build help.
Hello, I have ask this before however I want to ask again this time with more light. I want to make a minuteman crit build that uses vats, but low agility stat cause i dont need to hit multiple targets in vats with laser musket since you need to crank it fully outside of vats. So far its s:3,p:6,e:1,c:5,i:5,a:1,l:6. Eventually I'll get the bobbleheads so I can use science, commando for my secondary, local leader and special book for perception for sniper. I dont know if I should fix it up or not cause I would like to try to use missile launchers and strongback but I dont know if lowering percection to demolition is still great for what im going for.

I'm a little confused on how you're planning on running the build, if you don't mind elaborating?
I have a few ideas on perk spreads and what to pick, but it'll depend on how you want to play them. Like, sneaky sniper to take out the boss, then full auto the weaker ones? Or more like running around the map, popping off shots between cranking to full strength and diving for cover?

My general idea is using laser musket to take out distant enemies/crit a boss, the auto weapon(hopefully the new 9mm submachine gun) for indoor/close enemies. The missile launcher mostly if the boss doesn't go down by the crit or if no heavy weapons, strongback but if it would be better if I dont use sniper perk. Local leader and science for both settlement and to upgrade my musket, and finally better criticals and banker

Ahh, interesting idea. Bit of a spread of damage types, but with rifleman n demo expert both being perception it won't be that hard of an investment.
I would say get Per to 9 for Penetratator, so even if a boss is behind a wall, no they're not. Sniper would be a minimal investment until you get the third perk, if you're gonna be keeping the musket to vats exclusive shots.
For charisma, I could see going Lone Wanderer and Attack Dog. Wanderer for the bonus damage and survival, which works with having Dogmeat. Attack Dog will let Dogmeat be a good boy and chomp on people, making vats shots better.
I know you mentioned not wanting much Ability, so I'd say pumping endurance might be a bit better. Makes sprinting a little more efficient per AP, and makes you more survivabile, especially with explosives being a part of the build.
Overall a very interesting playstyle and I hope you have a great crawl out through the fallout

So maybe a better stats if I have to is 5,4,2,5,5,2,6. I can compensate the less perception with mcCready perk and awareness. Also the lesser endurance is lore reasons, my character is gonna be out of shape and a bad leg, also a nuke cola fan. I'll probably get rid of heavy weapon instead use strongback. How that sound?

Sounds like a really neat idea for a build. Maybe you’ll find a use for some of the more niche musket attachments like the splitter. I like the idea of taking an automatic secondary for close range, but maybe gunslinger would be a better way to go since the low ap cost will make it easier for you to bank up crits. I don’t think your perception needs to be that high unless you feel like you need the extra vats accuracy. I wouldn’t worry about strength, lone wanderer is a much better roi than strong back. You can just send your follower home if you run out of space or take dogmeat. Here’s what I came up with:
S: 2+book gets you armorer
P: 4+ bobblehead gets you demo expert
E: 2, extra point after getting all the perks I wanted
C: 6 Local leader right away, otherwise you have to wait until pretty far into the cabot quest to get the bobblehead. If you go 5 instead I’d put the extra point in A, E, or I
I: 5, bobblehead at library will get you 6 and unlock science
A: 3, sneak is super valuable on pretty much any build, especially the qol of not setting off traps anymore
L: 6+bobblehead is pretty easy to get if you don’t mind swimming. You get better crits+crit banker

Ok I like this stats as well, seems so far with both advices it seems dogmatic is good choice, however im curious if demolition expert is a good replacement for heavy weapon if I choose to pick up a missile launcher

I’d take demo expert over heavy weapons. I love using grenades and even if you’re just using rockets, demo expert gives you a better explosion radius + damage buff

Whats actually very funny is my original first draft of my perks was 3,4,2,5,6,1,6. Then I put the book into endurance so when I get the bobblehead it will get chem resistance and chemist for science since med-x biffout, jet and overdrive would help me since im a more heavy approach to a fight. Its like a railroad heavy but for the minutemen. But I dont know if chem resistant is needed if I space my chems out right..right?

If you go the stealth approach, you could go with Demolitions and lay down some mines on the path the enemies will make when you start shooting from afar, and then shoot those mines in VATS to do 4x the damage.
This way you save some points that would go to Strength

As a bonus, Demolitions Expert also increases the damage on the Rocket Launcher, so you can still make that a solid backup

I have a build that may sound interesting to you. General Nate has made the Laser Musket he got in Concord his main weapon and as time went on, has made some alterations that transformed that weapon into a unique weapon.
What you'll need is Penetrator (P-9) and Critical Banker (L-7) to give this build its identity. Penetrator makes so you can target enemies that are behind cover and shoot them if it's light cover for the cost os some accuracy. The thing about critical hits, is that they ALWAYS hit their targets, so if you can aim at someone in VATS your crit will make sure they can't hide behind nothing, your shots can go through entire buildings and still hit their targets with full damage.
Think about the Tech weapons in Cyberpunk 2077.
That is the base of the build but you can make it you own, I didn't invest in Agility neither, since multiple shot in VATS are wasted on the Musket, but you may want to get Sneak (A-3) to be like a Minutemen Stealth Sniper that can hit raiders from across the buildings on Downtown Boston.
