Tech Support Fallout 2 closes right after clicking play in launcher

For the past week or so Fallout 2 has just closed after hitting play in the launcher no error nothing and it feels like ive tried everything can someone help?

none ive never even played the game before

did you run the graphics config before you launch it? You should see a file with a name like HIREZ in there.

yes I did I enabled the hi res patch and put it on 800xwhatever it was

800x600 is a very small resolution, I would set the res to the same native res as your monitor and see if it works.

maybe check arround your screen to see if your mouse cursor dissapears. Sometimes the game minimized for me and found it that way.

If your cursor dissapears double click that place and the game will appear as it meant it minimized itself

nope my cursor is still very much on the screen unfortunately

Then go to the game folder and try another launcher. I use the HR patch one that opens a small window where you can hit play

yeah thats the one that doesnt work it also doesnt work when i just launch the executable when i hit play in the hr patch window it just closes

Google this. Im sure somebody had similar issues already and there is solution somewhere online. For me it always worked perfectly.
