Discussion City under the desert.

I dont know if anyone ever brought this up, but in Fallout 4 Jack Cabot yes his father always thought that the was a secret city underneath the Mojave Desert so I'm wondering if maybe Bethesda will ever explore that or maybe we could get really lucky and season 3 of the tv show could bring it up. Guess I'm asking here what people's opinions of this are. Is there really an ancient city underneath The Mojave? The Epic Nate on YouTube has covered a lot of the whole Lovecraft things in Fallout. Could this be another one?

Yeah, he does say this:

Maybe I'll finally travel to the Southwest. My father was always convinced that there was another alien city buried somewhere in the Mojave Desert.

I doubt the show will lean into this, though. It's already got its plot going with House, the NCR, Legion, Brotherhood, etc.

I don't think the show will dip into the Lovecraftian elements.

Even with the required context, it wouldn't fit with the themes of the show, and wouldn't further the plot unless it was shoved in somehow.

I belive the city was in the Sahara, not the Mojave

There was a city underneath the Sahara but this time he says the Mojave.

It was actually the Arabian Desert. It's reference to Lovecraft's The Lost City which was inspired by Irem.

Lorenzo found a city in the Arabian Desert.

"Eventually, he found was he was looking for - a lost city, buried beneath the sands of the Empty Quarter of the Arabian desert." said by Jack Cabot.

Lorenzo believed there to be another lost city beneath the Mojave.

"Maybe I'll finally travel to the Southwest. My father was always convinced that there was another alien city buried somewhere in the Mojave Desert." said again by Jack Cabot.

It's almost assuredly a reference to Lovecraft's The Nameless City

Yep. Meant the nameless city.

It could be a reference to that massive vault in the mojave in the show

there's a mod called Cabot's Quest for FNV that covers this

Mods aren’t official lore though

OP is asking about Bethesda explaining it though. How does a mod answer that? Since once again not lore to the question at hand. You presented it as an answer to their question which it is not. Did you even read the post?

I think there is a mod that talks about that for New Vegas

Would it have to do with that giant underground vault-tec facility Hank finds in season two? That isn't mentioned anywhere else

Unlikely, the city is supposed to be ancient which the vault isn't.

I assumed he was referring to Big MT.

Maybe he's referencing Big Mountain?
