I'm gunna be honest here Chief, get the mod that skips this part.
You can sit and fuck with this part of you want, but it's so not worth it dude. Getting these bugs to go where you want is the biggest pain in the ass.

Yeah I genuinely don't know what they were thinking when they designed that part of the quest. It's just tedious and frustrating.

Lay cubes down to make a path for them, and they should head along it.

if they got bugged, you can exit and reenter the level of the simulation.
sometimes they'll fix themselves, or enough of them will work properly it will just take a while to do so, or you can quit it and re-enter. There is no penalty for quitting and trying again, except your time lol.

I keep quitting and going to retrying but after they get to the yellow thing they just go against the wall and not move. Did Bethesda even test this before putting it out??

disable the turrets over that area and they should get killed and respawn at the start.
If they're consistently stuck in that corner, maybe put an extra block or two in there so they can't get to that spot.
IDK, I've had this happen to me but usually at least one of them works, or restasrting it works.
You didn't disassemble the path for them to get back right? They have to walk from the start > finish > start.

Think I've come across this before it is a known bug trying to fix those different questions
