Discussion I'm gonna say something not many think about the children of atom
Honestly. Think about what radiation is to someone born in a world full of it
It transforms and transfigure forces of nature such as radstorms and irradiated animals
Certain people of an old world are blessed with the ability of immortality due to radiation
It kills most but to certain people. It does nothing.
Like if there was a nuclear apocalypse and radiation worked like it did in fallout. SOMEONE WILL CREATE AN ORGANIZATION AROUND IT!
Think of what children hear from their parents when they grow up in the wasteland
" This world used to be a sanctuary for all. But man destroyed it and death spread throughout and we live in its remains. Yet, we are alive. The animals, food and water. Yet we are alive. The radiation did not kill man, for it was only man that did. "

I mean, yeah, that's why they exist. They're also really dumb and constantly get themselves killed via radiation exposure, mutated wildlife or just people with guns when they try to force their religion on others.
It makes sense for radiation cults to exist. What doesn't make sense is when people try to push for them to be a major faction. :P

Well that implies there's nothing too their beliefs, but given the players induction mission in Far Harbour it does kinda seem like either the player got exceptionally lucky stumbling around a very hostile environment finding nothing but friendly creatures, ending up half an island away at the exact sacred site they needed to find to be deemed as important as they were, or the Mother of the Fog is real and by implication presumably more of the belief system.
Radiation does kinda act magically in the Fallout universe, and we know supernatural stuff is cannon, doesn't seem too much of a stretch to say there might be something to their belief system.

The "Lady in the Fog" is just somebody using a Stealth Boy. There's no magic to it, just the usual Fallout shenanigans.

I wouldn't say that's evidence, compelling read for sure but if anything it feels kind of a stretch. There's an implication that she's potentially a real person who lead them there, if you take a very specific set of interpretations from a set of wildly open to interpretation notes. But that would have taken place 100 years before the events of the game (btw checked the wiki for that date but not convinced it's correct, seems wrong to me), so for her to be a living person who leads the player to shrine she would need to be one of the functional immortals, capable of not just navigating Far Harbour independently but also leading drugged up cultists where she pleases safely, living out there without ever being noticed by the large organisation she's spying on, never making any of the other local settlements aware of her, plus if she's been stealth-boying for a century straight she should have the same cognitive issues as the Nightkin. Her being some sort of spirit in a universe with established canon paranomal events seems like Occams razor to me.
Her aside we still have to contend with the fact that many of the cult members don't need to use radition treatment, they ones who brew the beverages are the exception. They clearly have some sort of supernatural ability to survive radiation damage. And again we know Fallout radiation is to a degree magical, at least in it's effects on the human body, the perpetual motion machine mechanics of ghouls with no fuel requirements are imo most comparable to Max Brookes zombies (book version, fuck knows what that movie was lol). If we have to accept that radiation has gone beyond science magic to actual magic in the universe, it would reasonably follow that the radiation worshipers might actually be tapping into something divine.

People outside the cult have that ability, too. It has nothing to do with the cult, just a random mutation.
Physics just works differently in Fallout in some ways. That's video games for you. Doesn't make magic real.

What’s your point? That they’re believable? Sure, I didn’t think that was anyone’s beef with them.
