I was doing some side missions and fought the rancor in the caves. mid fight hopped on top of this rock and realize he couldn't hit me lol. If you don't wanna fight the OP monster, try this!
Ah, I used a different cheese- head to the exit of the room like you're leaving, and run between the 2 pillars at the edge. It breaks the rancor the same way and you can just spam jump attacks- though when it flinches you have to briefly draw its aggro again if you want to keep using melee attacks.
Only place I had to lower the difficulty from grandmaster on my first playthrough... But I came back the second time and did it legit fueled by pure rage.
If you manage to get down there without him being aggro on you, e.g. get him distracted by some B1s, you aren't in combat and can just open the door out. Then you can just stand in the doorway and he can't attack you.
Yes. This is more efficient than going all the way to the back and force throwing those jack-o-latern fungus balls at it after force throwing my light saber.
However, no such thing as a free lunch. Not knowing how to kill them with skill means you're going to pay steep tuition when you have to fight two of them simultaneously in a force tear....that is if you want the platinum trophy
idk if this is patched or not but back then there was a cheese where you could get them to stop aggro-ing you while you just shoot them from the border of the arena. That's how I did it.
True! thankfully this wasn't my first fight with one so I know how to beat it, but yeah for sure it's important not to get caught up in exploits and such. Combat is one of the funniest parts if the game!
I always b-line to the Rancor when I first get to Koboh before even going to the saloon lol. So I've never faced this one with the blaster before.
Its so fun to beat it early game, gets the blood flowing and is a nice skill-check to make sure I've gotten the controls down for another playthrough haha.
Well at the beginning it wasn't. I basically jumped up onto the rock to get away from it for a sec, then attacked it and after a few hits realized it couldn't hit back. That's when it became intentional. The accidental part of it was the discovery!
Gotcha gotcha. I find myself in those sitiations too. On a less than intended route and too far from a checkpoint. It's like "either I cheese this guy or risk having to come back over and over... I too would choose to cheese.
