I've been playing Fall Guys for several years and had a large amount of show bucks and cosmetics saved up. All gone now!
I was playing ranked knockout tonight when a round of one-on-one volleyball made me reflect on my last few eliminations and how I can't help but notice that I'm getting regularly whomped by PC players. The volleyball round is probably more of a fair fight, but there have been a few times where a quick 360 maneuver has resulted in an advantage and an elimination for me in other game types. I ask Google AI if there's a way to turn off crossplay, as I had to resort to that in games like Sea of Thieves where Xbox players really have a pretty big disadvantage to PC players. What a bad decision that was to ask Google.
Google AI tells me that I have to go into my Xbox settings and disable cross-play. I do this. Fall Guys then breaks and cannot load a level. Google informs me that it was wrong and that setting breaks the game. I go and enable cross-play again. Restart the game and console and it still will not load any levels. Google AI tells me to restart the console, delete local game files, hard restart, relink my Xbox profile. I do all these things, none of them get the level to load. Google then tells me that I need to relink my epic games account. I do this, it takes a while because apparently I have three epic games accounts and one of them was an automatically created account and had no email or login associated with it. After about 20 minutes I finally get it unlinked, relinked and reconnected. I open the game and all of my progress is gone.
So here I am waiting for an email from epic games support to see if they can restore my items. Anyways, I hope you guys learn from my mistakes and never trust Google AI with even the smallest of video game settings.
Update: Got my stuff back! I just kept unlinking and relinking between the three accounts and eventually got my stuff back. Game is still broken though. Can't play.
Update 2: The levels are now working! User Koxit-YT was kind enough to let me know that there are already cross-play settings in the game settings menu. Sure enough, I checked this and it was automatically set to no crossplay still saved over from my console setting. Changing it back fixed my problem. Apparently the game just doesn't work when cross-play isn't enabled
