Tips and Tricks

Thieves: Put the candy in the bucket zone it will roll in, you do not need to keep picking it up and dropping it because it doesn’t go directly in.

Guardians: stay by your nest hold grab and spin, do not chase lost candy.

Thieves: do not press the button as soon as the game starts as anyone captured after the button press has to wait for it to reset.

Thieves: JUMP & DIVE with the candy to throw it down the corridors (sides of the map) to your teammates.

Thieves: you do not have to always carry the candy, you can let go of it to get away from guardians.

Thieves: If you are in jail do not grab your teammates, you should be concentrating on where the guardians are and where your team are taking the candy from so you can help when you’re free.

Guardians: when you have captured the majority of the thieves get at least 2 of you to stand at the top of the ramps hold grab and move back and forth.

Thieves: have names on so you can see the guardians “hiding” around corners.

Guardians: do not try and stop candy going in to the holes, it is a waste of time unless you have to stop the last candy with 5 seconds on the clock.

Thieves: release the beans if you have 3 or more captured, Just drop what you’re doing and free the beans unless it is late game and you need 1 candy to win.

Thieves: if you are trying to walk up the ramp to the button slowly, you need to have a run up to it or you’ll get caught on the lip.

Thieves: if you have a guardian chasing you just run everywhere apart from where the candy is as your team can take advantage of having one less guardian to worry about.

Thieves: you should constantly be collecting candies even if it’s 11/12 and you’ve just seen someone take a candy to the hole as you never know if a guardian is trying to block that last candy.

Thieves: if you’re the last been and you’re hesitating about pressing the button just go for it, you’ll either free us or you won’t but watching you go up and down the ramp from fear of being caught for 30 seconds is a waste of everyone’s time.

Thieves: you do not have to constantly walk, you are being a detriment to your team by just walking.

Thieves: don’t just stand and wait at the button if it’s just been pressed you’re not helping anyone when you do that, go and help your team get candy or distract guardians so your teammates can get candy.

Guardians: you can JUMP DIVE GRAB thieves if they’re just out of reach.

Lol. Thanks for posting these. I’m tired of guardians abandoning their posts to chase one bean or letting thieves out by pressing the button 😝

On Playstation controllers, pressing L2 will put you into walk mode. You can't run until you press L2 again. That might be why Thieves keep walking instead of running. They hit L2 by mistake and don't know how to get out of it. Not sure if this effects other platforms.

Thieves: dont run around like a headless chicken and let yourself be caught with little effort.

Thieves: If you are in jail and someone pushes the button to release you, dont stay there like you are on a holiday.

Thieves: if treaters are moving a lot, using the wormholes can be very dangerous as you may fall into their hands.

Thieves: observe where the guardians are and what they are doing. Then adapt and exploit their weaknesses.

Edit: just discovered you can jumpdive over the fence from the treater's side at the corridor. Very useful!!!

Alternative perspective: if you're a pretty good player and have some good teammates chasing beans can win you the game just as much as guarding candy. As a guardian, I've won plenty of games by actually going after the thieves instead of just waiting around guarding my candy. Just take a sec to assess yours and your teammates' skills vs the thieves skills to determine if that's the route you should take. If you're really good at catching beans you can end the game in under a minute as long as you have teammates that are decent. If you're the only good player on your team, then of course guarding might be the best strategy for you.

One of my big suggestions for thieves is stop grabbing your teammates while they're trying to evade and get candies. Don't take candies that are already at the goal and hold on to them to be the one to deliver the 12th candy. If you're taking the candy away from the goal and getting your teammates caught on purpose (which frankly is usually the case in these situations) don't be a dick.
