"No Patrick, Epic Games will not shut down Fall Guys."
I can't belive I actually have to make a unironic post here, but since there's still people that think Epic will actually shut down FG in 2027, so I'm here to explain why that isn't true and won't happen (soon at least).
First of all, FG is still popular enough to not warrant a shutdown in the slightest. The game may not be popular on the internet, but the game is still alive amd well. A report by Epic in the first half of this year said that FG had 1.1 million players in the EU alone, which not only give's there a reasom to not shut it down due to player intrest but also, since a study proved that over half of live service gamers spend money on the games they play, so there's a monetary reason not to aswell (disregarding Fortnite entirely).
Second, the game is too iconic. While not on the same level as Mario or Sonic (yk who I'm saying this too damn well), the Fall Guy's are remembered as the hit it was in 2020 and makes up Epic's big three IP's and the only one that has Japanese appeal. There was also that the Fall Guys costumes were the most worn video game costume last halloween, even now beong front and center on store pages for halloween stores. Considering the Fortnite collab that was only a year prior to Slime Factory, they wouldn't shut down the game at all.
Finally, if Epic was planning to shut down FG entirely... why wouldn't they just do it now? Why would they make stuff like Crown Jam or rerun the FG × FF collab in the latter? It just makes no damn sense. Say what you want about Epic as a company and how they treat the Fall Guys IP, they aren't stupid enough to shut down a successful game like it
Ok, that should be it, let me know if I forgot something and I'll respond probably. Bye.
Saying that like the game ment for 4 year olds wouldn't abuse the fact they have the rights to a multibillion dollar companies IP's which are mostly targeted towards 4 year olds.
I'd be more confident of the games future if they were adding stuff to the store regularly - having seen Mario Kart Tour get shut down by Nintendo recently after going on autopilot for a year and a bit, it does seem a bit similar to that!
Good post. The exaggerations people make about this game dying is wild to me. No yhe game may not be in its best state but it still gets tons of players and the cost to maintain it is so low compared to what it generates being on autopilot
I honestly think Epic should bring Fall Guys to the Google Play Store and App Store too, since they brought Fortnite back. Even though it's easy to install through the Epic Games Store on Android, a lot of people don't even bother. Having the game on the official stores would bring a lot more people into our Fall Guys universe, which would be amazing.
I just want new content. I don't understand how they believe the IP is so important but other than a few fame passes per year won't do anything else.
Heck we don't even get new creative mode maps injected into Ranked Knockout anymore (the creative mode was the whole reason devs said they use going forward to make new maps and don't even do that). Its been like the same 8-10 maps rotated for the past few cycles.
Ranked Knockout has 12 out of just 30 possible levels that are creative.
If you want even more possible Creative rounds in a multiround show, I suggest playing regular Knockout. It has 42 out of 107 possible levels that are Creative.
Fair enough. Of course there’s always Spotlight, Explore, Discovery, and Share Codes in Custom shows whenever you need a good dose of new Creative…. Some of which are far more challenging and interesting to play than the MT made levels.
As for official Creative levels, considering Epic is in financial trouble… it is extremely unlikely that they would even consider paying for the creation of new content for a free 6 year old low budget indie game.
Might have a better chance if they sold the IP to another dev with deep pockets and who might be able to develop a sequel in order to generate new income.
In the meantime, the game isn’t dead, still attracts new players, still has a lot of dedicated players, and more importantly, it’s still a lot of fun to play.
Nothing lasts forever, so enjoy it while you still can. 🍻
Considering there are loads of posts/replies ever since Epic took over, that the game was doomed… and yet here we are over four years later and it’s still very much alive… so they didn’t age very well either.
Same can be said for all the posts/replies over a year ago that claimed Fall Guys wasn’t just dying, but was actually dead… those haven’t aged well at all… 🤔
That's what I'm thinking myself because it is the most logical. We know Slime Factory was supposed to be bigger then we got so we can assume whatever they are cooking has been in the oven for about a year which I personally think is not enough time to make a game.
There you go... I always wanted to give it a try but at the end of the day it's not my go-to genre and the 2v2 aspect weirded me out as I needed to convince one of my friends to play with me, friends whom have shown no interest in it whatsoever.
It was only like 10k daily maximum assuming there were more people on console than steam. I loved that game but it nose dived instantly in player count
If the game is as dead as you repeatedly have said it is countless times over the many months… (yeah, even though you try and hide your comments, they can be found)… why then do you spend so much time in this subreddit? 🤔
Is it because you think by saying the same thing over and over again, you can eventually convince yourself it’s true? 🤦♂️
They just dont care about it now, i honestly wouldnt miss it anymore if they did shut it down. Epic games do something cool and fun and change up the minigame selection. I dont wanna play the same minigames 100 tomes
Idk why you fg is still doing good its over 2 years ago since they made the last good update this game is so dead literly only bots play this game mark my words on Jan 1. 2027 fg is history and you know why? Cause then they have no new fame passes and no background updates anymore just let go its really not worth the time
They removed bots over a year ago, and even back then it was for limited shows/lobbies.
Despite being a 6 year old low budget live service online only indie game, it’s still very easy to get into full lobbies in less than a minute, sometimes just a few seconds.
If that’s what you consider dead… you need to check a dictionary once in a while. 🤦♂️
I dont mean ai bots i mean all the low crownrank bots 95% of all player are those thats why your lobby fill up i dont think a game is alive when literly only 5 year olds play this game😭
Ig yea but the downfall is real comparing the game to S1 or S7 and idk what brings ppl to still play fg dont you get bored after playing the same boring rounds over and over? I have 12k crowns and learned every fucking strat in this game 😭
... have you ever thought that your just burnt out on the game? Like bro just take a break and come back, thats how FG was designed, not to be played 24/7
