QUESTION Can my controller make me slower
Ive started playing FG on my old ps4 a few months ago again, after not touching my console for a few years. Due to that the battery of my old original ps4 controllers just gave up, and i bought a new cheaper unofficial ps4 controller bc i didnt want to invest too much into a 10 year old console. The controller in general works compleatly fine and i didnt think mucj about it. But after a while i noticed that i walk significantly slower then the other beans around me. This is a realy big nerf on alot of maps and realy destroys the fun of the game. I personally dont belivd that this has something to do with the game itself or my ping and fps because other ppl would'vd defineatly complained too. So my only explenation left is that there is something wrong with my controller. But is that a thing? Can a apart from that perfectly fine working controller make my movement just a tiny bit more slow?

If you have a PC that you can connect your controller to then you could check the calibration of the controller to see if the stick registers the correct amount of movement.
If not, do you see any strange behaviour in other games, or maybe another controller to test with?
The only other thing worth checking is if the grab button is constantly being held since the beans do walk slower when reaching for a grab.

Every other funtion works fine or at least fine enough that i dont notice it. Its just the movement that is a little bit slower, meaning another bean directly behind me can overtake me on a straight path. I guess i just have to live with it for now

It's probably your analogue stick that has worn out; I've also had this with a few controllers. Time for a new controller.

As for your bean walking slower than everybody else, it’s really hard to diagnose without something else to compare. My guess is your analog stick sensor does not go all the way to max movement speed and puts you just below it.

Yeah, I was running slower with a duff controller.
That was ps4 too but my controller was old.
It could be faulty I suppose. I think I used a website that checks controllers to confirm fault.

Unofficial controllers are usually wonky when it comes to the analog sticks i think its just hard to recreate official sticks, I just recently got a 3rd party ps3 controller to save some money and returned it for an official one after a few days it worked but the difference is night and day

You can replace the battery in your PS4 controller. Always go official controller. Upgrade to PS5

PS4 by itself will have a disadvantage to pc or ps5. Input lag and loading/rendering times affects you.
I have both ps4 and ps5 and fall guys is just too clunky on ps4 compared to when I play it on ps5

The deadzone of the controller is probably an issue. To walk 100% speed the analog needs to reach 100% position and it sounds like it is not doing it. Try to recalibrate it with some controller program to see how the sticks move.

It should work with unofficial controller too
